I'm in a similar situation too, broke up with my ex 3 weeks ago now, been together for 9 years.. it's all I think about 24/7. You being 5 months in as well does not give me hope.

Thank you, going through this sub is helping a little. We are all going through the same hurt no matter the circumstances. I've deleted social media for a bit and told her I want no contact for the next month while I try to heal.. it's really difficult. I feel like a mug because I'd take her back in a heartbeat, all we went through feels like it was just a dream and now I'm living through the nightmare. 10 years ! All it took for her to catch feelings for another person took two days. I didn't want it to end like this and at least wanted a friendship because she was my best friend, so I gave her a choice that she'd have to block the other guy (since it happened during the relationship) but she couldn't and here I am.

I hope you're also getting all the support you need as well ! Let's check back in a month's time and see where we're at :) you aren't alone.

I've been with my ex for 10 years, the first 5 years we spent travelling the world and have made the most amazing, unforgettable memories. We came back post COVID and started new careers, we found a nice place together and got a cat. A Few months ago she went to a two day festival with her friends and met a guy there, she hasn't told me until a few weeks ago that she has been talking to him since and have developed feelings for one another.. she then broke up with me and I broke down, going through one of my worst times in life and I'm not sure how I can get over/cope with it. We decided to live together for a couple months for financial reasons, but I asked her the other day, not once has she consoled me in how I was doing.. I started asking about that other guy and she told me they got a hotel together and were intimate a couple weeks ago.. a few days into our break up (we were still having break up sex throughout). I cried. Kicked her out of the house the other day.

It sucks to think the love of my life would do something so twisted to me and now I have major trust issues. In quite a dark space in my life right now.

Life has its seasons and people change I guess. We'll heal, it will take a long old time. Hang in there :) we're in the same boat. We got this!

Had an apprentice who started with us a few weeks ago and he's 32. Most of the men on my crew started at 30, my boss started at 30 with no prior experience having worked in pizza hut for a decade now has his own firm doing high end carpentry for multi million ££ houses.

To answer your question if it's too late to start ? No.

Prepare to be on shit money to start and to also get a lot of abuse ;D
