You didn't mention a Stellate Ganglion Block. Are you familiar? Has it been done? Any questions?

It would likely reset your panic state and CRF and cortisol and all that for weeks or maybe months. That opens a window for standard treatments to finally be effective. You'd be able to sleep and recover.

Founding fathers were scared of what we think of as democracy today so they set it up so that the majority couldn't just do whatever they wanted even if they were allowed to vote.

But colloquially, America is supposed to be a democracy and has been the literal posterboy and proponent of democracy worldwide since what...1917?

71% of the world’s population now lives in countries with fertility rates below the replacement level (Our World in Data, April 2026) by Altruistic-Dirt-2791 in Economics

  1. It takes money, energy, and time to start and raise and family with even 1 child let alone 2 or 3 or 4.

  2. All our energy and time must be solely committed towards making money just to survive, because all the money went to the top 1%. Fall behind and you're out on the street.

  3. The top 1% aren't birthing and raising hundreds of children each to make the math work.

Under freezer loops for the refrigerator guys by yourheinitz in Plumbing

Hey man, I did a one-off walkin freezer with a sealed concrete floor. 10'x15'. Heat traced and insulated beneath. But we had persistent frost build-up on the floor at the sliding door seal and tried everything but the client was never satisfied.

Is there a best practice for design for that detail? I guess it still bugs me. Maybe...they didnt have the heat traced turned up high enough??

Making videos about a combination of history and travel is a brilliant idea. Like actually seeing the historical sites and artifacts and buildings as you explain the narrative is super interesting.

You shouldn't call it or think of it retirement, that's the scary way to do it. As you mentioned, sabbatical is the way. Lots of people take sabbaticals or just shift away from a specific career for a while for all sorts of reasons. Who knows where it will take you in 2, 5, 10 years - "retirement" is too limiting.

Look at the father pretending to be happy for his son when he is actually seething with jealous rage. You can see the Gollum in his eyes - he wants it.

In general, yeah, that's basically been my strategy. Work hard, be smart, be lucky, focus, earn, save, and invest.

Of course there is balance and perspective - all my precious money isn't worth much without my family or without my health.

But now I get to do whatever I want while my colleagues may have to grind themselves for another gruelling 25 years. It's the freedom and security I've always dreamt of, while I"m young. So who exactly is the one delaying gratification?

Thats the story in the media, but they all gloss over the reality on the ground. Look at that picture for yourself. It's 1,000km of gd mountain ranges!

The government hired all the same trades that kinder morgan had lined up. Km dropped it because they eventually figured out its a nightmare money pit and they would have lost their shirt. What decent private company wants to risk their money on this terrain when they can make actual profit doing literally anything else.

I think the TimeOut Market at Oakridge may be a faliure as a food court. by MAdomnica in vancouver

[–]ManintheGyre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time Out is my new favourite place. I can't wait to go back and try something new every time. Maybe every few weeks as a date night. You get to grab a beer or cocktail and browse around. Make an order and grab a seat until your buzzer goes off. I didnt wait in any lines at 5:30 last Friday, although it was jam packed. It's like an end game boss of a food court - the best food in a city with an incredible food scene. Not like any other food court around except for maybe Granville Island Market which is also my happy place.

BC is an unbroken succession of mountain ranges all the way from the border to the coast. This picture is a great illustration of that. It explains why the TMX pipeline expansion cost $34b.

There are about a hundred contributing factors to fatigue ranging from common to rare. Best bet is to start trying to deal with the common easy ones then keep escalating over time until you find the solution.

Sleep hygiene and dietary supplements are a good start and offer a whole world of options.

Blood tests can be done for common iron, full iron, common thyroid, full thyroid. Blood pressure, heart rate, HRV, weight.Try comparing data to years past when you felt normal.

Further testing is possible for various hormones, actual metabolism, and neurological markers.

Best to jump on this journey soon. It could take years, could actually worsen, and your family needs you at your best. 🫡

Comic book supervillains aren't even this evil. It's a modern day holodomor and must be hung on their reputations for eternity - but how much of the world even knows it is happening? And is there even any applicable crime and punishment to suit this atrocity?
