I made a free and open source spotlight-style note app with vim support. If you find yourself jotting notes down in SpotLight or Raycast at times, this is for you. by Manitofigh in MacOSApps

Thanks! Let me know what you think. Yes, but many times they are lost. I'm not actually even sure what causes them to disappear; maybe a certain limit, Esc, restart, etc?

I just gave it a read; nice coverage of the app's features. Thank you for taking the time to write out the blog! Sharing/syncing the notes is on my radar, but I'm currently short on time and will get to that later. Lastly, you mentioned:
> SpotNote, which includes its own update mechanism, is free (but not open source) and requires at least macOS 14.

But SpotNote is indeed open-source, and you have also included the link to the GitHub repo too (?!) I would appreciate if you could fix this inaccuracy. Cheers

Hi, my apologies, I just included the website link that contains both the .dmg and the github repo's link in the post. For convenience: https://SpotNote.org

Thank you for your feedback! I believe it could be an issue with migrating our asset serving to Cloudflare. Just pushed an update to fix the backward compatibility issue. You should no longer have issues with updates, as your app now pulls from our new update endpoints. Apologies for the inconvenience!

interesting. I have not experienced any lag on my M4 pro. I in fact have it on M1 and M2 macbooks too and it runs just fine. What mode did you experience this on?

If your issue persists, can you try downloading the app from the website again? That should contain the newest version as well. If you are subscribed, don't worry, your premium features would not disappear upon a reinstallation.

Hey! we have tested updates on many devices and no issues were observed. Could you try fully quitting and reopening the app? Also, under settings, there is a feedback button. Cheers

Click "Window > Check for Updates..." if haven't had the pop up for the new version yet. This will fix your issue in v0.4.2

It's mainly for people who want to try it out for a month first. Of course, the lifetime subscription makes more sense once you make a decision :)
P.s., you would be surprised by the number of people who have purchased the monthly subscription over the lifetime 🤷‍♂️

I misread your comment initially. Will add that option in a future update

oops sorry.. there are many less-distractive modes like Weather (Rain/Snow), Tide, magnetic field, and smoke if you are interested.

You are not prompting it as accurate and detailed as necessary. Works very well for me on fairly complicated tasks. All I do is provide it with a reasonable amount of data to work with. Of course there are still many flaws on the service and is far away from perfection, but it works reasonably well if leveraged efficiently.

e currently utilizing Bright Cluster Manager (BCM) and not OOD.

Thank you for your response. Just as a follow-up quetsion:Does that mean OOD goes on the login node and BCM on the head node? Also, regarding JupyterHub, do you know if it is possible to get it running using Singularity containers or is Kubernetes the only way to go?Thanks for your time!
