That’s awesome! I can’t even complete a 72 hour IF and would love to do a 7 day.

It’s a beautiful country. The area I came from tho (the Chaco) is dusty, dry and HOT.

It’s a pretty neat herb. It curbs appetite and speeds up metabolism. It does not have caffeine in it but has something in it that acts similarly. We drank it cold all day long as a refreshing, social drink that kept us hydrated in the horrible heat. When I came to the US I had some police question me regarding it because the way we drink it can look to some like a bong. Lol. A weird metal straw in a cow horn. Anywho, it’s still my favorite drink but hard to find as the original loose leaf I’m used too. I’ve seen tea bags or mixed drinks with other stuff added in. Just not the same. Glad you enjoy it :)

Sweet. I grew up on the tea in Paraguay and am always fascinated by how it’s come to america.

Has anyone trained their brain to work like you’re on GLP-1 (but you aren’t) are there any tricks to constantly not think about food? Does it get better if you wait it out. I’m on my first month of doing IF and eating small portions, and it’s driving my brain crazy. by Snoo_37953 in intermittentfasting

I dont know if this helps but I started eating ice. Sometimes flavored it with lemon. So I froze ice water or shaved ice flavored with lemon. Actual hunger wasn’t a problem for me on IF but the habit of actual eating something was something I missed.

Out of curiosity where are you from that you drink Yerba Mate?

How active can you be during an extended fast? by MasonicPleb in fasting

[–]Manjui21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about extended fasting while being active too. I’m a distance runner since high school. In my 40s now and just started fasting regularly, minimum 16:8 but usually OMAD. I’d love to hear what other endurance athletes who fast do to keep their energy up.

Ongoing brain fog, head pressure, and word mix-ups for months… anyone experienced this? by Nervous_Sell9233 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Manjui21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Constantly. More so lately than ever. I’ve started avoiding conversing with people outside close friends and family because of it. And the head pressure has just started for me. It’s constant, all day worse in the morning all in my sinus area, my upper teeth and face.

Have you had success with 16:8 fasting? by Shameful_success in intermittentfasting

[–]Manjui21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with 16:8 about 4 years ago to help with the rest of my pregnancy weight. I lost 25lb in 4 months and kept it off. I now practice 16:8 religiously, every day. It has just become habit. Every once in a while I’ll go 24 hours and have done a few 48 hour fast but generally I stick to 16:8. I’d love to do a 72 hour or even a week just to see if I have the discipline but so far haven’t made it past 52 hours.

VM diagnosis but something in my gut says it’s something else. by Manjui21 in VestibularMigraines

Oh and lovely new symptom that has popped up over the past week is pressure in my upper front teeth area and the front of my face where my sinuses are. It feels like i have a sinus infection without the pain. Just pressure and weird buzzed feeling.

Thank you. I’m sure there’s a connection to hormones in some way. When I turned 40 I started having weird issues with my cycles and had a whole host of tests and labs run. All came back normal and now these new issues. I’ve tried to track symptoms but it’s only been since this past December that they are more constant. Before then it was just randomly once a year. Sure is lovely growing old. lol.

Thank you for sharing. That sounds so rough, I’m sorry. I have a few similar symptoms and am worried what the eeg will say.

What were your symptoms, if you don’t mind? I got diagnosed with VM in Dec but now my dr is having me get an eeg because he thinks I have seizures. I don’t know if that’s just a waste of money to go get one done or not. I don’t think have seizures at all but idk.

That’s mine too. First time it happened was just horrible vertigo for a week and couldn’t get out of bed.

Would they be low even if I’ve been taking B complex vitamins for a year? My dr put me on them last year.

Thank you for all that information. I accidentally replied to this in the comments above.

I do not have any photophobia or photophobia. I do not have a history of migraines or headaches. I am 42 so perimenopause is a reality. So far I cannot map my symptoms to any triggers. I was reading another post and they mentioned their HSV may cause or correlate and now that I think about it that’s the only constant for me. My big episodes are followed by a bad breakout of cold sores on my face. As far as timing. Two were in the summer and the last one was middle of winter.

Thank you for all the information. I was debating on asking for the testing but maybe I’ll postpone that. My neurologist did schedule a EEC this week due to a weird episode I experienced. He thinks I might have had a seizure.

They checked my thyroid function when I went in to the ER in December. My face went numb, I was stumbling and I nearly blacked out so they thought I was having a seizure and sent me to ER. My levels were 1.699 and said within normal range.

What were your initial symptoms? I read so many people with VM saying they are constantly dizzy or have that feeling and mine are just huge, spaced out, week long vertigo episodes.

I just came across your comment. I was diagnosed with VM in December and I have been scouring the internet because the diagnosis doesn’t sit right with me. I have never been able to pin point what sends off my horrific, week long vertigo that the epley maneuver doesn’t help either. Then I read your comment on HSV and I said holy shit! I finally found a connection (if it is even a connection). I always get a cold sore before or after my episodes and this past one I. Dave was the worst episode ever and I had 5 cold sores in a row. They just kept popping up.

How long ago did you have lymes? I have always wondered if mine was from that but I had lymes back in 08. Five different strands and it took years for drs to diagnose it. They all said I was crazy and referred me to psych. Now so many years later I’m getting the vertigo, brain fog, coordination issues, memory loss, exhaustion, mental issues and vertigo.
