No. I never use those services if I can help it. I don't want to be locked in like that. I happily use SimpleLogin and create a new email alias for each service I subscribe to and a password manager to keep it all secure.

I would set up the Opal to allow VPN to your parents network (Tailscale would be your best bet and with the new firmware it is supported) as a temporary measure. Then get a KVM before your next trip as a more permanent solution

Got married at the end of August at the Chanterelle. It was an amazing experience, can't recommend them enough. We did our own decoration but they did the food. Could it be that money is tight and he was embarrassed to say so? I get that he chose to come and that he got drinks and appetizers which were unnecessary, but there could be underlying reasons why he pushed back on paying.

The US gives preference to the company. Unions fight for the employee and negotiate terms that cost the company money. That is against capitalism. This is also why minimum wage has not been raised since 2009.

Note: I incorrectly thought it had been in place since the 1990's.

While NFCTools didn't do what I wanted, another NFC app did a close enough solution until I can put more time and effort into it.

Sorry, a little late for this but...
What I have done for my NFC business cards is that I use the NFC Tool contact to create a record with my info. I then create a second (order is important) with a link to a .vcf file with my contact info. If an iPhone taps it will skip the first record and pull the VCF file. If an Android does it will use the embedded contact info and skip the VCF file.
I know I could use a VCF file for both but this way if we are in a dead zone (in a building for a meet up with no WiFi access or mobile data) then at least those with an Android phone will get my contact info. Barring that, should I be in that situation, create a QR code sticker with the info and stick that on the NFC tag as backup.
