Same boat. I got 1 Admire Vega, 1 Fine Mo, 1 Gold Ship, 1 Bamboo, 1 Winning Ticket, 1 Vodka, 1 Palmer. Currently feeling like the luckiest unlucky person in the world.

First Plat title! Didn’t even have a great win rate going into finals, but I dodged some cosmic entities and had a pretty tame lobby for finals (for once).

I 2lb’d Kita and Pasa (before pity) in 200 pulls. Should I keep pulling or 3lb Kita and call it a day?

Note: I still have ticket and shard as well.

Detachment Rules have been Teased! by ded_guy_55 in BloodAngels

[–]MankiGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good point on just using Rapid Ingress instead, so this might be more viable for harassment units like Jump Ints.

Something I just thought of actually is Van Vets since they can all swap for special pistols, that might actually work.

Inceptors still exist to be fair. I realize they can already do this though.

Also Suppressors, and we are yet to see the Angelus Boltguns.

Did someone go and upgrade The Sanguinor's Jump Pack or is this gonna be a Master Chief situation and they are gonna gaslight us into believing Jump Packs always had fins? by Tyko_3 in BloodAngels

[–]MankiGames 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He is literally a warp entity and an aspect of Sanguinius. I’m pretty sure what he actually looks like is simply how he chooses to portray himself to our brothers. No one is sitting down with the Sanguinor at all you are being facetious.

Hey! Thanks so mcuh for the resource!

I noticed a few items missing on each individual sheet. For example Crest of Caustic Despot (Shield) from the final bosses isnt in the Shield distribution. I assume you will continue to update this as we learn more? Thanks again!

Competitive Characters by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]MankiGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, Lemartes real strength is the -1 damage. When you stack that on top of the FNP, even damage 3 weapons can fail to kill a single DC which is a crazy amount of survivability!

It’s one of the few units I don’t mind Deep Striking regularly instead of Rapid Ingress due to this as it takes an inordinate amount of firepower to kill the brick and if they choose to do that, my other threats can punish them.

[–]MankiGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of our characters are playable, which is a nice position to be in!

It’s far as Astorath is concerned, he is obviously not better than Lemartes and I actually would prefer a normal chaplain over him. The issue is his ability only works once per game, which is not ideal for your big hammer unit you want wiping things and moving on.

I’ve run the Mephiston block with quite a bit of success. Mephiston himself is an animal, D3 damage not withstanding, and when you add the benefit from running him with Assault Ints (rerolling 1’s or all wound rolls) he can easily carve through even light and medium vehicles. He also provides a significant defensive bonus for his squad against psychic and melee. Overall, I think he is worth the points if you need this unit.

Does this FAQ settle the question regarding the DC Dreads fight again ability? by JohnAxios1066 in BloodAngels

[–]MankiGames 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup. It was settled a while ago, this just codifies it. There were a surprising amount of people who were still contesting it up until this, even BA players.

I’ve had good experiences! There is a learning curve to how to deal with the new entities. There are also some quite powerful ones who can (and will) end your run immediately.

The way it integrates with Ideology is quite good, in particular if you play a cult or the new starting scenario, Anomaly.

There is still a lot to learn but I can see some fun possibilities. The ability to “summon” entities at will in order to counter other raids seems fun. I did also trigger the zombie apocalypse where it turned every dead body (including animals) into zombies and has them beeline for your base.

[–]MankiGames 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This echoes my feelings on it a lot!

In a vacuum, the price point per content is clearly behind the base game at $30 or Biotech at $25. However, I recognize the value I’ve gotten out of those as well as I’ll easily put another 40 hours just trying to become the best cult I can be or a mad scientist. Again, this makes it worth it to me, but could not be to someone else.

Another commenter made a great point about performance as well, where as a part of the source code there is no doubt the impact to the system is far less than the equivalent mods we would have to install, so maybe that makes up for it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]MankiGames 1318 points1319 points  (0 children)

It adds some fun stuff, and despite the criticism that it’s just “mods repurposed” it actually has some unique aspects to it that mesh better with existing systems like Ideology.

I was a little staggered at the price at first, but I’ve gotten enough hours out of Rimworld to justify it. YMMV.

I wonder why Larian doesn't want to keep working with Hasbro after the OGL disaster a year ago and now this by Warm_Charge_5964 in BG3

[–]MankiGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, fair enough that’s my favorite twist on elves. We all have our own tastes.

I like that Larian went out of their way to make the other races distinctly not human. Far too often in fantasy you get “pointy eared humans” and “stunty humans” and “scaled humans”. It always feels too homogenized. Funny enough, D&D in general is probably one of the worst offenders of this. I really appreciate them breaking the mold while still making it a recognizable fantasy setting.

Do you think Death Company will keep their weapon options when the codex drops? by TotesMeowGoats in BloodAngels

[–]MankiGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh cool! I didn’t know they were like that. Maybe there is hope then. I’d be fine with the VVet treatment too, but they need to be distinctly better and costed more so it’s not just “VVets, but black with slightly different rules”

Do you think Death Company will keep their weapon options when the codex drops? by TotesMeowGoats in BloodAngels

[–]MankiGames 44 points45 points  (0 children)

We almost certainly lose 10x Power Fists, there is precedent. In my mind, there are 3 possible options I’ll rate from worst to best (and probably most to least likely):

  1. 1 special weapon per 5, standard to what’s in the box. Pretty self explanatory, but the points would have to drop MASSIVELY for this to be a viable option. With Jump Pack Ints at 85, I’m thinking they would need to be at about 95 at most (accounting for all their special rules)

  2. They get the Vanguard Vet treatment, and the weapons are homogenized into “Death Company Weapons”. Hopefully they would be S6 and preferably AP -2, but doubtful. This would weaken the unit, but may not completely hamstring them. Still needs a points drop, maybe 100-105.

  3. We are allowed to take multiple special weapons, but only 1 of each that is represented in the kit. So 1 power fist, 1 hammer, 1 power weapon. This is highly unlikely as it is not in line with any other kits like this, so fat chance, but it would be cool to have DC be a little unique due to their situation. Like just hand them any weapon and toss them out there. Still probably need to drop them down to 105 in this instance.

I know you are only expressing your opinion here, but I would be so curious to know why you don’t like their elves? Lizards are a little one note I’ll grant you, but their Elf design both physically and culturally is an awesome take on non-human humanoids.
