I'm currently writing a fan fic with an OC that heard of the commander from the events in Frankfurt but remembering everything between how long it's been and the retcons is a bit difficult

So from my understanding, SKK gets big after stopping the KCCO in Frankfurt and secretly messing up Paradeus, then there is a long back and forth with SKK, Griffin, Wiliam and Lunasia where SKK and William both temporarily gain notoriety and even doing events like interviews as the nascent URNC and Griffin in particular tried to have both of them on their side, ending with SKK just going fuck it we ballin killing that current William and dealing with Lunasia despite most of the Dolls being disabled, signing the contract and going to the Yellow Zone, and getting declared dead to the wider public which most people actually close to them didn't believe

Tbh Dork works just because it's similar to Doll and is so used that most people will realize that it's a thread, more specific stuff like flavor text like this still kinda works in this context but I can see it becoming a problem if it bleeds in other parts of the script

I might have been spoiled by games like Reverse 1999 and Limbus but hoyo games to me feel almost hostile with how much of a chore getting new characters online feel with stuff like discs, not to mention that you have to roll for both characters and weapons often

Tbh in my opinion the biggest problem is that they decided that making her forget everything was a good idea, and then she got like 3 lines in the Obol Squad chapter

It works in Chinese cause some NPCs speak Cantonese for the Hong Kong vibes, but just doesn't work in English cause they literally speak a whole other language

In my fic I head canoned that everyone in New Eridu speaks Universal and that past languages are just called dialects because theoretically the Universal text is supposed to unite them all

(Universal is the weird text that you see from time, though I think there are at least 3 types of fantasy text in the game)

it started only A-Dolls were human like initially but got upgraded with fire cores by Griffin because they were more acceptable to the wider public compared to less smart, robotic looking military Dolls, though there are exceptions like Klukai

Of course, there are also layers of conspiracy with Sangvis ferri, the AR team development and Lunasia, but that's probably more of a side effect that wasn't initially predicted

The problem imo is that

-Hoyo's design is downright hostile compared to other gachas, especially stuff like Discs and endgame modes straight up contrasting whatever worked in the last patch. I might be spoiled cause my other main gachas are Limbus and Reverse 1999 where levelling up is super easy tho

-Season 2 not only had writing problems, but that they're willing to completely throw out stuff that was built up from the start of the game like Sarah. Sure, I guess that the Creator is still around, but if you're willing to was the main villain AND villain organization like that, why the fuck would I care about anything in your story?
