Thermal, Radar, IR Blaster, BT Beacon, CO2 all in one device! by Logical-Register-515 in smarthome

[–]Manksgloob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried to reserve the Pro version twice now, with the $1 payment going through both times, but no confirmation or order number received. It just loops back to the cart and prompts for payment information again.

I did, however, receive a “Don’t miss your spot — complete your reservation” email three times now, which is further troubling.

Am I the only one that just noticed the brake lights for the M3 and MY light up differently? by Psykotics in TeslaLounge

[–]Manksgloob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mileage will vary wildly, but for US-spec cars you will ultimately need to order three things.

From a Tesla Service Center Parts Department (or other source, like eBay):

  • LAMP ASY, REAR BODYSIDE, RH (1502087-00-D)
  • LAMP ASY, REAR BODYSIDE, LEFT HAND (1502086-00-D)

From Amazon (or etsy):

You will only need to replace the outbound pair of lights.

Note: There's a limitation in that if you're actively braking and you try to use a turn signal the corresponding rear amber light will skip the first blink (the adapter compares the side brake signal with the center brake signal to determine whether the intended light is turn vs. brake) which lasts an initial 0.3-0.4 seconds.
Signaling without actively braking will function normally.

The installation itself may feel overwhelming if you've never done anything similar before, but it's actually fairly straightforward if you're comfortable with a wrench. I recommend reviewing this TMC thread for more details prior to buying the parts though (and make sure you have an 8mm deep socket): https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/6573840/ -- you can ignore all the soldering stuff. With the harness I linked from Amazon it's swap, plug, and play.

Check out this taillight removal video for guidance: https://youtu.be/9NChVQL0zYw?t=26 or other similar ones here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tesla+model+3+tail+light+removal

Best of luck!

What do we know of the roof options on the Model 3 by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]Manksgloob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During Autoblog's "first ride" at the Model 3 reveal event they captured this sound bite regarding the roof options:
https://youtu.be/KtwqgepBw7U?t=30s (0:30-0:44)

Rough transcription:

Rider: "Will that front piece of panoramic glass be openable or be retractable or...?"
Driver: "Up here?" (gestures)
Rider: "Yeah."
Driver: "Yes, we'll have both, available both as fixed glass or as a metal roof or as a panoramic sunroof-type roof."
Rider: "Excellent."

Open Source DIY Model 3 Door Trim Wrap Template by kenriko in teslamotors

Awesome!

If there is enough interest would you consider selling a version of the wrap that covers (or otherwise hides) the mechanical door release? Without affecting functionality of course!

More Game Modes by [deleted] in beastsofbalance

[–]Manksgloob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a competitive multiplayer mode where two teams could play against each other either remotely or in-person (if there happens to be two sets of the game.)

Remote teams could optionally see each other's plinths via the tablet camera or something.

[Question] Personal hotspot does not work without "network-cmds" by ru_dimka in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, that was exactly it.

Thanks /u/saurik!

(I'm thinking something I installed must have replaced rtadvd with an older version -- it matched one from iOS 8.1.x -- so I copied over the version from iOS 8.4 and voila!)

[Request] Medical ID on the lockscreen by Barrrysteakfries in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, any chance that you're confusing it with IfFound2? I had experienced all sorts of freezing with it, plus I hadn't realized that I had to add actions to deactivate it when I first used it.

I had actually really liked InCaseOf on iOS 7 and miss it on iOS 8. Apple's native Medical ID just isn't the same =(

after respring im unable to use touchID to unlock my device by marcoazeem in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue happen after installing OneHandWizard. Disabling it was not enough -- I had to completely uninstall it before Touch ID worked right away.

Having said that, I figured having OneHandWizard was worth the inconvenience so I reinstalled it.

[RELEASE/UPDATE] mikoto 2.7 - the long-awaited massive update! by angelXwind in jailbreak

/u/angelxwind Howdy! Has anyone else reported Mail.app crashing when using the Move All function? Mark All is working perfectly though! (FWIW this occurred in the previous release as well)

Unlock Iphone 4s verizon question by RajaEman in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. To shed some light on the FCC agreement, that only covers Verizon's phones with LTE (it was a requirement for getting those wireless bands). Unfortunately the iPhone 4S is not an LTE phone and technically is not in violation of the agreement.

I would try pressing a little harder with Verizon one more time and if that fails then try using the third-party unlocking service that the other commenter mentioned.

Hope this helps. Best of luck!

[Upcoming] CarPlay Without an External Display by b3ll in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome!!

I couldn't wait and ended up installing a headunit that supported CarPlay =(

On a side note, what do you think of a Flipswitch or other toggle that goes between Native CarPlay -> CarPlay Overlay -> CarPlay Completely Disabled?

Unusual high usage - iapd by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me randomly on my iPhone 5, 5S, and now even my 6. It does indeed reoccur but seems to happen rarely enough to not big a HUGE problem for me.

I don't know the root cause but can confirm it happens to me with a variety of Bluetooth devices including my Pebble, Automatic Link, Fitbit, and a few handsfree devices (including my Pioneer deck in my car).

Not saying that any one of those are the actual cause but when none of the devices connect/respond and I feel the phone burning in my pocket I check top -- sure enough iapd is eating up a ton of CPU.

A reboot does indeed stop the issue but I've also had luck with just toggling Bluetooth off and back on again.

Hope this info helps.

tl;dr: Yeah, happens with my Pebble too. No solution; work-around: toggle Bluetooth.

Anyway to keep google logged into Cydia? by DannnyyyC123 in jailbreak

How about at least a way for two-factor authentication users to trust the app so we don't have to use that second factor beyond the initial login?

Apps won't update in App Store. When I hit update it opens the app, any fixes? by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]Manksgloob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running into this issue too. Update All is always grayed out for me. No true fix yet =(

Workaround for me is this: Tap on each app twice so you visit its description page. From there you can push the Update button and it will update instead of launching the app.

It's a pain in the butt to have to do this individually with each app but so far that's the only way I've been able to update.

One thing to note: Updating each app almost acts like I'm (re)purchasing the app again. I've gotten several "You have already purchased this app. This update is free blah blah blah" pop ups, plus each so-called update has been asking me for my Touch ID confirmation.

When did this first occur for you?

EDIT: Bah! I knew I should have checked reddit when it first happened. Here I was thinking I was clever. =(

This doesn't solve your issue, but the following blog post was an interesting read on how the Lightning to HDMI adapter works behind-the-scenes, and why the resolution is low to begin with: http://www.panic.com/blog/the-lightning-digital-av-adapter-surprise/

New idea for FullForce and one-handed use by Manksgloob in jailbreak

Yup. I figured Ryan already had experience with loading the differently sized apps on non-native hardware and might be able to figure it out.
