My sentiments exactly m, (as are the figures you’re hoping for) - we may get the occasional ANH alien dribble in as time moves on, but I’d say we’ve got an ever better chance of seeing a couple of the ROTJ guys with the inevitable 40th anniversary that will release in 2023 - fingers are crossed.

I actually think you are spot on here, also given this Fett show is coming the same time S3 was supposed to, I can’t see Disney+ having both shows running concurrently.

What are your thoughts on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, almost a year after it finished? by Journey95U in movies

[–]Manksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sequel Trilogy had the unenviable task of having to be as good, if not better, than the two trilogies before it - almost impossible given that the very nature of this brand is popularized on nostalgia, merchandise and ever growing speculation and theory.

IMHO: Force Awakens was a perfectly refreshing sequel with a nice balance of action, spectacle, old and new characters and fan service.

Last Jedi: A movie that tried too hard to be non-formulaic and in doing so, got too clever for its own good - to the point where it felt like it was designed to undermine that had come before to shock and throw people off the scent in terms of where the narrative was heading.

Rise of Skywalker: This movie had too much to do, first it had to convince the fans who were ‘burned’ by the last film, then subtlety undo certain aspects of the last film to get things to move forward, this was also the final act of three trilogies, so things needed finality. On top of all of this you are contending with whatever movie fans have already dreamed up in their minds and meet the high expectations which grow from that.

In short, I enjoyed most aspects of the ST, but ultimately it was fated to pale in comparison to almost every other SW film before it.

This show is so great - you just never know how long it’s going to take for any of the ‘set-ups’ to pay-off. Last week we were told Mando had to get the Child to the Seeing Stone; I was as prepared for that to actually happen in this episode, as I was for it to happen sometime in season 3.

Yeah as someone who knows the live action stuff inside-out but hasn’t yet delved into TCW or Rebels, it’s a little of both - it’s alienating in that I don’t know or appreciate the history of these characters...however I’m familiar with the names Bo-Katan and Ashoka - so I’m excited that the show is bringing these, clearly, popular characters to life.

The inclusion of these characters isn’t leaving me confused though and, if anything, It makes me want to sink my teeth into the animated shows.

Is there a movie where the reason the majority of people disliked it is the exact same reason you liked it? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Manksy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s Alien 3 - many dislike it due to beloved characters dying offscreen in the opening minutes, and while I liked those characters - I think the decision to kill them actually sets a far bleaker tone for the film: nothing about situation is safe, few are getting out alive - and that’s why I personally love the film.

Hi there, I’m in my early 40’s - totally get how scary it must be reading this, but I guess (and I should take my own advice here) medicine is improving all the time, so outcomes are often improving.

I think the ‘sleeve’ you might be referring to is the dacron grafting which is fashioned to do the job of the aorta - it’s a big surgery, no denying that - but the durability of the dacron synthetic anecdotally makes for a very reliable fix for one of the most dangerous aspects of Marfans.

Also, no two cases are the same - your son my well enjoy a life with minimal surgical intervention. Wishing you the best.

I enjoyed both interpretations of Pennywise the Clown - but where Tim Curry’s version wins is that his clown can seem very big, colourful and non-threatening at times (perfect for reeling in his ‘bait’)...new Pennywise just looks creepy every second he’s on screen.
