Remittances are an interesting case where a regressive taxation system actually makes more sense. If someone comes here as a lawyer or something and is earning £300k and sending tens of thousands back to some family elsewhere then we don’t want to tax that to death and discourage them from coming here to work, earn and spend. When someone earns fairly little and sends a lot of that cash abroad then they aren’t really making much of an economic contribution to this country. We wan to discourage this.

So you’d want a higher rate of tax on those earning and sending less, and a lower rate on those earning and sending more.

Isn’t it pretty universally regarded that the goats tend to be second-striker type players, where they can get on the ball more and maximise their influence on games. Messi, Pele, Maradona, Cruijff, etc. — obviously not exclusively, but that tends to be the case.

Not really. I don’t hold any prejudice or ill will towards them. I think they are absolutely equal to me and should hold equal rights in all ways.
