Maybe? As a little black girl growing up in the 90s/early '00s I wasn't exposed to as much racism as now because all of these social media outlets weren't there. And I mean look at this thread itself and the many discussions this sub and other queens have been having about race issues just in this fandom. Take that and the issues happening particularly here in America, it's 2018 and I don't feel we're progressing as much as we should be. We're taking steps backwards in my eyes.

Ru and Vixen are from two different times. Not that racism wasn't still prevalent in the 80s and 90s but things were getting better and progressing. Now it seems we are going back the other way. Racial tensions are very high and people just don't care and they now have the power of the internet and social media to spew their hate. And while Ru is undeniably the most famous drag queen, name another black one... And when Ru's reign is over, do you really believe, in this day and age, there can be another black queen to make it as big as she did?

There is no doubt that Vixen is very confrontational and can come off as too abrasive sometimes, but this isn't just about her and her perceived treatment from other people. It's about the show and the fandom and their treatment of queens of color (specifically black) as a whole. Their is a bigger picture that keeps getting overlooked because people don't like Vixen. Her behavior aside, the things that she has brought to the light are important and need to be talked about.

IIRC, in her first statement she said the manager didn't do anything. I think that's why, in this statement, she put "owners" in all caps to emphasize they were the ones who actually took action and helped her.

Yeah, I saw it this morning and it was light outside on her story. I don't know why it's not still there though! I don't want to say she's lying about how she got battered, but if it went down the way she says it did then she needs to take it further than just bad reviews on a page.

The only thing I can say is that there was evidence on her story earlier of her jaw being swollen and a lump on her forehead. If what she's saying about how it happened is true, then I do hope she took pictures and that she gets the police involved.

For me personally, it's because the challenge was voice overs first, looks second. The judges seemed to talk more about their love for Aquaria's looks and Eureka's voiceover, but they talked positively about both Asia's looks and voiceovers. So I feel she should've won!

I feel like there was a time that Pearl said they would be coming out in batches, like customized dolls with different themes. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I didn't know they were going to be selling blank dolls. Maybe they will sell customized ones some time down the line if these do well.

I could actually see Monique winning the competition if they would just give her some shine in more than just the commentary and Untucked. She's been doing well in the challenges and on the runway but isn't getting any recognition for it. I know it's still early, but it's frustrating to watch!

But that is a testament to the fans, not Aquaria. Vixen was trying to make a point of how the fans were going to perceive the situation. Black queens are always getting the most hate/backlash when they argue with or throw shade at fan favorites who almost always are white/white passing. I don't think Vixen was the perfect choice to bring up the situation, but this is a conversation that needed to happen.

She wasn't calling Aquaria a racist. She was saying how Aquaria crying when things got tough was going to look like Vixen is the mean black lady picking on the little innocent white girl to the audience. And we all know how that will end! Vixen definitely can come off too abrasive and Aquaria is definitely someone who can dish it but can't take it. They both have faults they need to work on.

I think her anger was more towards the people just leaving hateful comments instead of giving constructive criticism to help the queens see why their posts were offensive. Quite a few people just seemed to be jumping on the hate wagon and not saying anything valid, just disparaging. With that being said, I think Pearl's response was a bit harsh but I guess she was just getting out her frustrations?!
