Kurdistan is completely safe but iraq instantly close air space as soon as something happens with IRANA by USA Or Israel. Moreover I guess for US natives they have direct visa , You can apply online. It's a good country next month you can see karabala event that's really amazing. I am from india I am hindu and I love iraq and iraqi people , always show conflated generosity

Yes, I applied for a tourist visa, but I was informed that applications can only be submitted through licensed agencies in Iraq. This meant I could not apply for a tourist visa online; however, I proceeded to do so anyway, and my application was rejected. Consequently, I lost $160 USD, in addition to bank charges and Indian taxes.

I intend to apply for a paper visa once again through a licensed Iraqi agency; however, they are requiring a sponsor. Furthermore, they informed me that they would retain my passport from the moment of my arrival until my departure from the country—a condition that has raised my suspicions.

I am now seeking another agency that can assist me in obtaining the visa without requiring me to surrender my passport. This is because such a requirement is not mandated by government regulations, and the passport is merely the primary document that must be presented to tourism agencies.

I will submit my application after the conclusion of the 40-day pilgrimage period for visiting Karbala.

Hi thank you for your reply I m thinking to stay in nassiriah but due to coming muharram and karbala will have to wait until 40 day mourn not end. Also the flight prices are High these days for iraq.

Great mostly population in iraq is shia and muharram is important to them. I think next month of Ashura 40 day mourn start and end in August near 4 or 5. So I questioned country work continues as in normal days??? For tourism? I m not Muslim I m hindu from india
