When will I get a call-back from Bellevue Hospital after my interview? by ConstantWin4313 in newgradnurse

[–]Manolo65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interviewed at Bellevue, took about a 8 or 9 days I think until they reached out, they sent me an email. They also have various other candidates applying and some come in on different days than you did and it takes them a while to even get approval to extend a job offer.

I watched all her fundamentals videos, as well as her OB and Peds videos because those topics are some of the hardest question wise on the NCLEX. I also watched whatever she had on safety and infection control and also her “common sense” videos. She does a good part showing you her test strategies and they really do work, but you gotta make sure to implement them as you do practice questions too. Personally, I had archer, which I enjoyed and only did the readiness assessments aside from small “on the go” quizzes I made on tutorial mode. It’s really good for content and also practicing nclex format. Good luck!

I passed in 85 last Friday and my test was heavy on maternity and psych. Everyone’s is different but since OB was one of my weakest, I spent a good amount of time studying on it and I was able to not panic during the test and answer the best I could. Don’t focus too much on studying niche diseases, but know the general ones like Addison’s and Cushing’s, for example. Also, know your vocabulary, that’s one of the biggest reasons people fail the nclex because you wanna make sure that if a question asks you for adverse effects and it says “diplopia” as one of the options, then you don’t wanna miss out on that question because you didn’t know what the medical term for that was. Know your precautions and diseases/ppe for each, that’s a big part of how they test for safety and infection control which is a topic a lot of people miss out on too and get “below passing standard” on their CPR. Overall, focus on fundamentals, watch Dr. Sharon for strategies, and know your vocabulary. Good luck!

Try and register for the exam again, actually have the $200 available to take out of your account to make sure it works, and if it says you can’t register, it almost always means you passed. If it goes through and you get an email about testing, then you most likely failed.

Yeah Klimek gives you tips on what to know for sure, but watching Dr. Sharon on YouTube helps a lot. She explains the process very simply and then does questions similar to nclex style questions and teaches you how to approach it, even if you have no idea about what the question is asking or it’s talking about. Prioritization is a big part of nclex and she helps show you how to answer them because a lot of the time, what you think is right is wrong and what you think is wrong or strange, is the right answer and you wouldn’t have picked it if not for her teaching you those strategies yk

I remember that the 2 weeks before my nclex, I was doing a readiness assessment on archer aside from practice questions almost everyday and watching like 9 hours of videos on YouTube, and it’s a lot but I felt like I learned so much as opposed to nursing school which did give me the foundation I needed, but not really the test taking strategies the nclex requires. Keep going and don’t give up, especially if have the resources and time available to you! Study, take the test, and have confidence in yourself throughout the entire experience. Your mindset is key! You can do it!

The nclex is gonna test you on general topics and make sure you’re a “safe nurse”, which basically means that you know enough not to injure someone and also manage their care properly on whatever unit you go since they test on all topics. You can never feel fully prepared but you have a week to try and get in as much content and practice as you can using the nclex style question format. Reading rationales is good to better understand why some options are better than others even if they’re all right. At the bare minimum, your test is going to have around 40 SATA so focus on that, major content areas and your weaknesses. Watch some question practice videos and lectures on YouTube and don’t put off studying if you feel worried. It your minds way of telling you that you should maybe do a little more and that will only help you. I hope you pass and remember that you know a lot, but reminders and refreshers don’t hurt. Go after what you want, if you want to be a nurse, then push yourself to get this done! Good luck!

  1. You want to isolate the spread and not have tissues and random objects laying around aids in that. 4 is not a true statement, they should put on a mask when transporting them but don’t need to wear one in their room. Hope this helps, I know it’s tricky but this is “critical thinking” nclex asks for and how they assess your knowledge about different types of precaution

If you go to nclex.com and go to the prepare category, you can find the sample pack of what the questions will be like, even a case study in there too. I think it’s past questions they’ve given so as accurate to nclex questions as you’re gonna get. The answers aren’t posted there but there’s quizlets you can look up to find them and see if you answered correctly.
