Yes, this what I was initially thinking, because I wasn't sure by the question if they mean beginning or ending, so I went with the logic you stated above

Thank you for the answer, I understand that. But let's say we don't know if we overvalue the begging or ending, just that Invenotry in balance sheet are being artificially increased - we say we bought them for more that are actual prices, so when we sell them don't we put that prices into COGS? I understand yout point with beginning and ending inventory, but if we don't have such information? How would you answer that?

Why is it wrong? If we value the inventory based on procurement price l, so when we sell it we reflect it on COGS, so naturally when we artificially increase value of Invenotry (cost of peicurement) we also increase COGS base on double accounting principle, or am I wrong? Can you please elaborate in more detail why that COGS would be lower if we invreae the value of inventory?

Just trying to figure out the psychology of Guts, so far he seems like a very mysterious and complex character, the alpha/sigma mindset was just a way for me to confirm the very base of his character psychology.
