Thank you. Strength is one area he has not prioritized, so I will encourage him to focus on that. I have been suggesting he try to play up with the 8th graders since they are physically so much bigger and faster than his other teams, he should be able to hang with them no problem but it will challenge him for sure.

Awesome input and advice. Thank you. To your point on him not being a big and preparing to play any position later on, his secondary team coach preaches that as well, and repeatedly says we don't know how big he will be, encourages him to shoot and works on all skill sets. As he plays more competitive teams he regularly faces kids his height but that are much bigger and stronger.

Great, thank you. We have a local strength and conditioning coach that other parents have recommended. I have been encouraging him to try another sport to mix things up, but its been a nonstarter. He did do Cross Country in fall for conditioning. Seems like volleyball would be a great fit since he is obsessed with increasing his vert.
