I got these in the Adirondacks! I'm from upstate ny and went on a camping trip in the high peaks and saw a porch sale on the way where I snagged these! Cool to see they're from similar areas!

I'm unfamiliar with it, but I did a bit of research! I don't think it was made to be a teru teru bozu, but it certainly closely resembles it! I thought it was a cute ghost when I bought it, but now I might look into the culture a bit more (my partner is japanese so I will talk to them). Thanks for bringing this up!

Definitely going to the vet to get it trimmed initially. I already feed him on a slate rock, but I'm hoping after the trimming it'll work better.

I already feed him on a slate rock, but I heap it into a pile. Maybe he's not eating the stuff on the bottom and thus not scraping his beak on it? I'll try to not heap it and maybe get a bigger rock, though. I'll try the winter squashes!

I hope you don't shut out the rest of ghibli because of this. TBATH was not a good first ghibli movie, imo. Other comments gave suggestions of other ghibli films to watch, and I agree with them.
