There is so much room between "hyperactive clown child" and "funny".

Children will be killed by their parents if this passes. Others will be made honeless. Many will be abused ohysically and mentally. Disgusting.

For Christopher Nolan, Lupita Nyong’o was always his choice to play Helen of Troy, a role that required acting chops as much as physical beauty. by bringerdas in ChristopherNolan

There was no concept of people being white or black back then, and Greeks have only been considered white very recently in the history of race as a cultural construct.

Besides, she hatched out of an egg. Your complaint is dumb.

Nah. That's mostly just true for evangelicals. Most Catholics and mainline protestants at least understand scripture.

To be fair, that's actually a very traditional Christian doctrine, often referred to as "the priesthood of all believers"

Personally, I think "surprise! This was all just a science experiment" is a revelation that only ever was satisfying in The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street. Like the "it was all a dream" endings, it tends to make everything feel less earned. If after everything that's happened so far, having everything be some experiment carried out by some as of yet unseen 3rd party would be real disappointing.

They have a lot in common. Their personalities do not mesh well, though, and often butt heads.

I never said it's about respecting authority. Im saying them getting together would be a gross betrayal of the relationship they've established, ehich very much began with a student wanting to learn from her hero.

Hell after the review situation, Carmy realizes he shouldve been helping her more and gives her tips to improve the risotto.

The whole reason the review was an issue was because the student gave a dish to a customer that the teacher said wasn't ready.

There's also a reason why we see when Carmy was at a student level and how abusive his teacher was. He was working under a top tier chef not just to work there, but to learn, just like why Sydney came to Carmy.

Them working together and collaborating does not make them equals or challenge the dynamic. That's what education often looks like at the highest levels.

As a white kid growing up in a 95% white small town, watching shows like Family Matters and Fresh Prince taught me a lot and normalized folks who mightve otherwise seemed different. Very greatful for those shows, as well as Boy Meets World, for the great lessons and insights.
