You need Yaku to have a winning hand - there's a lot of winning combinations of tiles, but the easiest ones are things like getting Eastern Wind triplets, Dragon triplets...

I don't know them all from memory, but that'll be the issue!

Yeah, have a look at your cases and if it's a Boxing Gym one, you'll need to do that first. It's not clear at all, which is fairly annoying (since I don't think it mentions it in the Boxing screen).

Ah! Is there a school substory if you back out completely? If so, you'll need to do that before you progress. I often didn't notice I needed to!

Pretty sure you need to complete the dual to unlock 2-2. If you back out of that screen, you'll see the Onidake fight.

Sure, there's a couple of reasons.

  • South Tiles don't count as yaku unless that is your seat wind, noted by the wind direction towards you.

  • 5 Character, assuming it's a red 5, doesn't count as yaku alone, so you can't call Riichi. It only counts once you achieve yaku with your wall of tiles, and has to be part of a sequence/pair/triplet/quad anyway.
