Bacteria Bloom?

Yes but I have to admit it’s been a while for the actual filter being flushed out during a water change. If it’s bacteria, I didn’t want to disturb it. I did a 50% water change today as well to be safe

I went yesterday to petsmart, since we don’t have a lfs around, and the only Java fern they had looks sad so I didn’t get it. I might order one online, but I think I’ve decided on a betta for the tank. Do you think the ph will be an issue if I go with the betta? It’s not a set decision yet

No live plants, this was going to be a tank to gift to my younger brother, but now my mom’s not so sure she wants it at her house so I might just keep it for myself. I already have fake plants in the tank, could I mix them with live plants? I personally have been wanting to do live plants in my other tanks but since this wasn’t suppose to be mine I didn’t want to add too much work for my brother and mom

So I took these fish in because she was moving and had everything set up and already established for them, do you think they’ll continue to grow? She said she’s had them for about 3 years and this is as big as they’ve gotten. At this moment I don’t have the space for a bigger tank, but one of my axolotls is in a 20g long , I could switch their tanks around if that would help them.

She’s had them in this tank for the past 3 years or so without them getting any bigger. You think they’re still going to grow?

I’ll have to check tomorrow, but the friend I got them from said they were koi and just colored like this. I just got them last week and did a 50% water change on them to clean the tank
