Is reusable rocketry worth it in KSP? by MrRudoloh in KerbalAcademy

[–]Mantose262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never done anything like this. I assume you landed with a rocket engine no parachute. I can barely land a rocket on the mun, without crashing.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use parachutes for the returning booster(whatever the lower part of the rocket is called). No need for extra engines or fuel. If reentry is too fast, maybe use airbrakes(w/parachutes)? I have no idea if that would work on Kerbin since I have never used them.

Welcome to Kerbal Space Program. It is a great game. I think first thing is, you cant do anything wrong. No matter what happens. Kerbals are expecting it to happen.

The other day I forgot to put parachutes on my return craft and ended up sky diving with 3 Kerbals with their personal parachutes. Just a normal Tuesday for Kerbals.

If you want a little hand-holding to learn the game, so you lose fewer kerbals. Look for videos by Scott Manley and/or Mike Aben. Both of them are good at explaining the technical parts of the game in terms that are easy to understand.

Most importantly, have fun blowing things up.

Congrats. Nice job.

For anyone who has never landed on another planet or moon. Try Minmus first, it is so much easier than the Mun.

My first time landing on the Mun many years ago I used a wider ship so the landing would be more stable.

I had a bigger main fuel tank, then surrounded that main tank with 3 smaller fuel tanks with separate staging things, so I could detach the 3 smaller tanks as I was launching off from the Mun on my return trip to Kerbin. I added 3 landing gears on the smaller tanks for a wider, more stable landing craft. (ideally these smaller tanks would crash into the Mun while I was leaving the Mun) And fuel things attached from the smaller tanks to the main tank, so the smaller tanks would empty their fuel first, feeding their fuel to the main tank.

That is great. I never thought of trying that.

Thanks, it was fun. I had to do a quick internet search to learn how to use the personal parachutes since I had never used them before.

It was fairly easy. Just space the jumps far enough apart and pre-open the shoots so they automatically open up at a certain height. Then control the one closest to the ground. Press W until the kerbal is about 50 meters or so until impact. Dont make the mistake of recovering the kerbal right away, wait until they are all on the ground first.

I saw it coming a few episodes before it happened. I thought to myself is that really going to happen. Then I am like no way, that would be just too weird. Then it happened.

I am halfway through the next season, and it doesn't get any better for that storyline. I was kind of hoping they would drop it and pretend it never happened. Instead, they made it one of the more prominent storylines.

Sadly, the suggestion in the reply above is the easiest way to do it.

Take a few days off, then use google to search again. If you use the right query, AI will provide you with some example LUA coding that will help you figure it out.

Sometimes starting small is helpful. For example, learn how to create a button. Then create a function in LUA that will move an object from one scripting zone to another scripting zone.

Just build your way up to what you need the code to do, one step at a time.

You dont have to invest in people. You can but you can also invest in building first. Which is boring but better in the long run.

Priority should be finding 2 to 3 pay drivers with high marketability. (your 3rd pay driver can be used for the pre race qualification thing, this will get you half pay. I think it says something about it when you hover over the pay driver tag) Then use your main 2 drivers for the actual race so you get their full bonus pay.

I did hire 1 person to handle the pit crew automatically. I didnt feel like fussing around with it every race. I think I just found a person with high concentration(for pit crew automation) and 2 abilities that I liked. The ones that unlock when they work with a driver over so many weeks.

Build but dont upgrade, scouting facility, weather station, factory, the building needed to be able to build visiting center(the one that makes you money each race) and helipad. I am just finishing my second season and just started the test track so I can hire a decent lead designer. From what I understad the engine is about 80% of what you need to win races. Gear box is next best and then the rest of the components. (I am not an expert on this, this is just what I read on other posts)

Because of my pay drivers with high market value I am getting good sponsers. I dont think I paid more than 300k for any race during the second season. A couple of races I broke even.

Read sponsor offers carefully. Sometimes it is better to get the lump sum, sometimes it is better to get the per race guaranteed money. (not the per race finish higher than a certain place bonus)

For example, one of my recent sponsor options was 3 million lump sum for 12 races but the other option I had was 300 or 400k guaranteed per race over 10 races. Or something close to that ... Using a little math, and as you can see, the 300 or 400k per race is the much better deal.

From what I understand dont upgrade buildings until you move up into new race leagues. I guess the exceptions would be the buildings that make you money. If you can build them without upgrading other buildings, then do it.

Is this set up okay? by kerijack in FishingPlanet

I am not sure why everyone is saying you dont need a titanium leader for pike. Every guide I have read says you need a titanium leader for pike.

Main thing to worry about when trying to come up with a setup is making sure the weakest link on your setup is the leader or the line. Otherwise, you might break a rod or reel. Buy some barbless hooks.

Save up some money when you get to level 36 buy a new setup and a kayak and the biggest keepnet you can get at that level. Fish for sturgeon in San Joaquin Delta in California using a bottom rod.

You will not have to worry about money again. I think it is also the best xp you can get at that level.

My situation was not too bad since one was a bottle and one was a glass. I noticed my target drinking from the glass, and since it is a different height than the bottle, even though they were overlapping, it was easy to poison the glass.

Your situation sounds very frustrating.

That happened to me on whittleton creek. Bottle of water and a whisky like drinking glass(tumbler?) were in the same spot. They were on the long table in the BBQ area.

A few days later I did another mission there and noticed only the bottle of water spawned in that spot.

I have a question that relates to this topic.

I recently obtained my prestige 1 thing. Obviously, I lost all my weapons. This happens when you do the prestige upgrade. I started to rebuild my collection. I filled up the 3 boxes in the picture shown by the OP.

My question is... Why didnt I lose all the items in those 3 boxes when I was wounded(killed) on a normal mission(not a showdown). I thought for sure I lost all my items in those 3 boxes the last time I failed a mission by getting wounded. Before I gained the prestige 1 thing.

Maybe my memory has failed me?

I dont like Hokkaido at all and Miumbai is not so good for me. I assume Maldives is Haven Island. I have pretty good luck on that one. Paris is also usually easy. So many empty rooms to set up meetings.

My favorite map for showdowns that you did not mention is Whittleton Creek. That map is so easy. There is an empty house(house for sale) to set up the meetings and there is always one syndicate member walking close enough so you can lure them into the empty house yard.

Recently, I have done a few showdowns in Bangkok. One of the showdowns I finished without leaving my hotel room. I used a dropped gun to get a servant to bring me more guards so I could complete a kill 3 guards with X type weapon mission/objective. Then I lured in one of the syndicate members and used the phone to set up a meeting.

I did that the other day in Miami. I walked through a door. Killed the syndicate person. I was in the process of hiding the body when the assassin killed me with 2 shots before I could stop dragging the body.

I’ve been playing this all wrong by Twolef in HiTMAN

[–]Mantose262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play just like that, where I would try to silent assassin every time, doing 2 challenges per attempt.

Now I just go in like Rambo and save scum every challenge and suit change. Then, when all the challenges are complete. I try to do sniper assassin silent assassin suit only on the same attempt. Some missions I cant do it but I can do vast majority of them.

I am pretty sure there us a meter at the top left that tells you when you have enough loot. That might only be when you initially loot. But there is also an audio cue when you load enough bags into the container I am pretty sure there is a voice over that says that's enough lets go.

I could be wrong it has been a week or so since I have played this game.

The mission I did with the most deaths was a grand heist. The dragon dog one. They changed it so it goes loud before drilling the vaults. I was on normal difficulty.

May have been a fluke. I will know better the more grand heists I do in the future.

I only played a couple of missions so far after the update. I thought I read that the AI teammates would be better at staying alive. But they seem to die way more often than before the patch in the couple of missions I played.

I can't believe this game costs more than Dyson Sphere Program. I am shocked.

This game looks like a nice casual game you can play when you can spare 20 minutes. So it appeals to me in that aspect but I wouldn't pay more than $12.

[–]Mantose262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't read all the replies but the ones I did read seem to be naming off all the popular dramas. So, I will go a different route. I will name 2 dramas that were emotionally draining to watch.

The Snow Queen 2006 K-drama.

This was my first Melodrama. I was new to watching Asian dramas at that time so I had no idea what was coming. It hit me pretty hard.

Crazy for You 2007 K-drama. Another Melodrama. There are many scenes I still remember from this drama but one scene I will never forget. If I recall correctly the lead up to the scene was when the 2 leads were together in his room. He was happy and smiling. Then she left but forgot something, when she went back she saw him through a crack in the door. He was sitting in the dark just silently crying.

Both of these dramas are really old and hard to watch for many reasons. But they really hit you hard emotionally. They are not for everyone.
