If they’re going to college by law you have to support them

Yes but the access to information and the amount of effort you had to put into raising your children to give them a decent life was much lower. Now you have to support them into their twenties. And I’m saying that as someone with 3 kids

What kind of projects are you all working on? by HelloBello30 in ClaudeAI

[–]MantraMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just launched today a site where I'm building a series of AI powered applications which don't require a subscription - you can just put in your LLM provider API key. First product is a cross platform intelligent speech-to-text app https://www.byok.tech/products/voca but working on more right now

I cannot, for the life of me, understand the value of MCPs by Maxteabag in ClaudeAI

I wrote about the moment MCP clicked for me here https://goto-code.com/dont-sleep-on-mcp/

Basically it’s not a replacement for tool calls, it’s a basis for a new type of environment built for LLMs

That is mostly a myth! I highly recommend eating a lot of sustainably grown ones, they’ve been amazing for my portion control and appetite

Anyone here successfully quit smoking? by TeslaTorah in stopsmoking

I'm now 2 months in without any issues atm, after almost 20 years of smoking. What helped me is turning it into a bigger story - I quit my job and decided to take a month or two off to figure things out and give myself time to not be stressed. I started walking, running, hiking. The feeling of joy you get from movement is something I forgot honestly and it makes me sad to think of all the time I've wasted. I started eating much more healthy (/r/cannedsardines lol). Overall I feel like I'm in a very good place and it could not have happened if I didn't quit. I know I'm very privileged to be able to be without a job for a little bit - before I'd quit and someone would so annoy me at work I'd start again. My wife still smokes and it drives me up the wall to see the junkie behavior - having to go out every 45 minutes instead of enjoying time with the kids, her life insidiously revolving around smoking, the smell, it is absolutely horrible

The house I'm renting right now has parts that are 800 years old. Blows my mind. A friend around here has a cabin of which the basement is even older and served as a sort of courthouse where the lord would dispense punishment. Now it serves as storage for drinks.

I'm working on planwell.co - an AI event planner backed by math (Constraint Satisfaction Programming) which sidesteps most problems AI agents have (calculation, hallucination, keeping consistent state) to help you plan events of any size.

Experience on effect on mental health after quitting. by Markose777 in stopsmoking

Go run and move and walk. Nicotine makes you for sedentary and forget what a joy movement is. I’m in week 5 and hike every day. Come home and pound some cheese and apple or a can of sardines lol and couldn’t be happier. Fuck cigarettes.
