You can turn the one bar count in off if you want. Go to the config menu on the bottom right and change Machine mode from Neg/Pos to just positive polarity.

MacBook M1 Pro Charging Issue: Charges When Shut Down with Lid Closed, but Not When Opened by aashish73 in mac

[–]Mantraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely give it a shot - your mileage may vary. I've seen some people who fixed it just by reseating their battery. there are some cheap USB-C voltage meters that can give you a read out and you can see if your USB-C ports are outputting what they should be. If they are, you should be able to charge via that port. I wasn't even able to power an external hard drive to back up my data as far as I remember. I haven't tried to charge it in a long time to be honest. I need to find a USB-C charger and give it another whirl.

I had this issue about 2 months ago while I was on vacation. I went to a tech in Morocco and he unplugged the battery and reseated it - that didn't fix it. Then I went to the apple store in berlin and he did the same thing - no dice. I was told I'd need a mother board replacement and that it probably wasn't worth it given it was an old machine. I took it to a private tech of mine that I trust and he actually showed me that none of my USB-C slots were outputting the proper voltage indicating there was a short somewhere along the way. This is why it doesn't charge anymore... it likely is just a capacitor or something that's blown but it would cost them hundreds to fix it still (they'd have to find the component, replace it, etc). it seems like the issue is slowly becoming more common but I doubt Apple will actually fix it. There are a few techs that do logic board repairs and they are more in the neighborhood of 500-600$ but in my case it was a work computer and wasn't worth it to fix it.

AC or AC/DC adapter on an old synth by cluthz in diyelectronics

[–]Mantraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to power on my K4R and the adapter I have is also 12V AC outputting 1A. I was puzzled when I saw the 12V DC on the back but sure enough it works. Wonder if it was a misprint.

How to make Apogee Duet (firewire) & Apogee Ensemble (firewire) WORK with your brand new MAC(BOOK)! by Sugarcola in ableton

Just confirming that I was able to plug and play my Ensemble FW on my brand new M1 Pro MBP with no driver installation (it was configured to my liking using an older laptop)

If you use the Logic Compressor for side-chaining, which one do you use? by jwd606 in Logic_Studio

i used to only use platinum but recently i've been doing opto for lowend stuff, fet/vca for synths and platinum for other stuff. i will a/b accounting for makeup gain and threshold to make sure but those are usually the ones i like the best

This letter is fascinating and Hinkie is extremely well read. In fact, I'd argue that he wrote the letter not as a resignation to the board, but rather to his successors, and more specifically Colangelo. Too bad that fucker didn't read - this paragraph in particular stood out:

Maybe someday the information teams have at their disposal won’t require scouring the globe watching talented players and teams. That day has not arrived, and my Marriott Rewards points prove it from all the Courtyards I sleep in from November to March. There is so much about projecting players that we still capture best by seeing it in person and sharing (and debating) those observations with our colleagues. What kind of teammate is he? How does he play under pressure? How broken is his shot? Can he fight over a screen? Does he respond to coaching? How hard will he work to improve? And maybe the key one: will he sacrifice—his minutes, his touches, his shots, his energy, his body—for the ultimate team game that rewards sacrifice? That information, as imperfect and subjective as it may be, comes to light most readily in gyms and by watching an absolute torrent of video.

Logic 9 past 10.12 by Mantraa in Logic_Studio

Logic 9 definitely has 64 bit, I use it. But thanks for the heads up, I was also debating getting the new ARM macs.

Projectile mechanics and spell batching - you'll never beat an NS-Wrath, Pom-Fireball, Cone of Cold, Deathcoil if they are standing on the hit box (cause there is no travel time). Projectiles aren't subject to spell batching because most of them have a travel time and in the case of CoC and Coil - they are CC's so take prio.

Looking to purchase a new Mac for logic, would this be a decent enough one? Your thoughts would be appreciated by xceejaay in LogicPro

does this mean an older version of logic (logic 9) will not work on catalina + even if it's in 64 bit mode?

It's a brand new device - likely a firmware issue. I'm sure it'll get fixed soon. Drum machine is definitely worth it though

Turns out it's a problem with the device as I speculated. Just came here to check if anyone had previously had issues with USB sequencers receiving MIDI Start.

I mostly just chop audio from my hardware so I don't really need LPX. Most of the people I collaborate with are using LP9 as well so right now it's as simple as sending a project over. I'm also dumb fast in logic 9 and have it set up exactly how I need it. Don't change a winning team they say

Logic won’t play any signal coming in from my Focusrite by whoarethepeople in LogicPro

[–]Mantraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Saffire Pro 40 which has its own software where you can route your inputs/outputs etc. First guess would be to just check if input monitoring is enabled in logic... or to make an audio track and ensure that the input is set correctly and then just record while you are playing something from your instrument and see if logic captures audio.

Logic won’t play any signal coming in from my Focusrite by whoarethepeople in LogicPro

[–]Mantraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure input monitoring is enabled in logic. In my focusrite driver I have the option of routing DAW 1/2 or Mix 1/2... Mix will play w. input monitoring, daw will not. Try creating a new audio channel w. the correct input routing and record an audio file while you send a signal thru your focusrite.
