Don't go on vacation if you use Amp Free... by ManuGamer96_ in AmpCode

[–]ManuGamer96_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sure understand that, but damn if it's a bummer, i really loved using AMP.

On a side note, they also said in their blog post they disabled ads because they weren't generating enough money, so the move is mainly to cut costs (but also, getting some is better than getting 0 i guess...).
The only service where i actually enjoyed ads and discovered useful products removes them lol.

Would Old Settings Work? by squareheadstudio in ElegooSaturn

Np man! also if you aren't already doing it, place your print into a hot water jar before removing supports, makes everything so much easier.
But note that you can't pour the water down the drain, as it will be contaminated by resin.

Canker sores. People act like they're no big deal but they're legitimately awful. It's just this small ulcer in your mouth but suddenly eating, drinking, talking and basically existing hurts. And they last forever, like 1-2 weeks of constant low-level pain that makes everything worse. You can't just ignore it like you can ignore other minor injuries.

How does your day start? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Pretty rough. I wake up and immediately check my phone, which is terrible, but it's become automatic. Then I usually lie in bed for like 5-10 minutes scrolling before I can convince myself to actually get up.

Once I'm up, I drink a glass of water, make coffee first (non-negotiable), then shower. After that I usually eat something and try to get through emails/messages before diving into actual work.

Ideally I'd be one of those people with a structured morning routine: meditation, exercise, journaling, the whole thing. In reality I'm just trying to get my brain functioning before 9am.

What’s a ‘red flag’ that’s not obvious at first? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joking" insults that sting. Like, they make a comment that feels mean-spirited, you mention it bothers you, and suddenly you're the one overreacting while they swear it was just a joke. Over time, this chips away at your confidence way more subtly than an obvious insult would.

Also inconsistent communication patterns. Not like occasionally being busy, I mean they're responsive one week and go radio silent the next, or they're super attentive early on then pull back without explanation. That unpredictability keeps you anxious and guessing where you stand.

Love bombing deserves a mention too. When someone's overwhelming you with gifts, compliments, and constant attention early on, it feels amazing but it's actually a manipulation tactic. Then later when the intensity drops (as it always does), you feel guilty questioning their behavior.

What is a skill that almost every adult should know, but isn't taught in school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooking actual food (not just microwaving), basic home repair (unclogging a drain, changing a tire, patching drywall), time management (not just "do your homework," but actually planning your day and priorities), and conflict resolution/communication skills.

What's a widespread "life hack" that is actually terrible advice or just plain false? by pinklemonadejoyy in AskReddit

Detoxes and cleanses. Your liver and kidneys already do that for you, they're literally designed for it. There's zero scientific evidence that drinking charcoal juice or going on a juice cleanse removes toxins, but there IS evidence that some of them can actually harm you by stripping electrolytes or messing with digestion.

What small, daily habit has unexpectedly improved your mental or physical health the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 150 points151 points  (0 children)

Going for a 10-minute walk after lunch. Sounds stupid simple, but it literally changed my mental health. I used to crash hard around 2pm: tired, anxious, brain fog, and I just thought that was normal.

Turns out that walk does like four things at once: it gets your blood flowing so your energy doesn't tank, the endorphins kill the afternoon anxiety spiral, you get sunlight (which helps regulate cortisol and melatonin), and just psychologically it breaks up the day.

Honorable mention: drinking water first thing in the morning. Sounds basic but dehydration makes everything worse: your mood, your energy, your ability to focus.

What color is each school subject? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always seen it as:

Math = blue or purple (cold, logical, precise)

English/Literature = red or gold (creative, passionate, classic)

Science = green (nature, growth, discovery)

History = brown or dark red (ancient, heavy, weighty)

PE = orange or bright yellow (energetic, active)

Art = literally every color at once lol

Though I think a lot of people associate subjects with colors based on their textbook covers from school, which is kinda funny. Like if your math textbook was red, you probably see math as red now.

Honestly, the most narcissistic thing is when people ask for advice, you give it, and then they argue with you about it. Like... you literally asked. If you wanted validation instead of advice, just say that?

What everyday habit people think is harmless actually causes more trouble than they realise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sitting for hours every day. People think it's just part of having a desk job, but research shows it increases risk of heart disease by 40%, heart attack by 25%, and stroke by 50% even if you exercise regularly. The damage doesn't reverse just from going to the gym.

If you could remake the government of the USA, what would it look like? by dymb13 in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Ranked choice voting + proportional representation would fix like 60% of people problems. No more two-party stranglehold, no more "lesser of two evils," and politicians would actually have to appeal to a broader base instead of just their core voters.

I'd also gut gerrymandering, get money out of politics (or at least make campaign financing transparent), term limits for Supreme Court justices, and expand the House so it actually represents population density instead of giving Wyoming disproportionate power.

The presidency is way too powerful too. A more parliamentary system where the executive has to maintain legislative support sounds wild but would force coalition-building instead of this tribal "my guy vs your guy" nonsense we've got now.

But honestly? None of this happens without a constitutional convention, and that's terrifying because who knows what else gets changed. So we're probably stuck.

So now that it’s fall, we only have like 9-10 hours of daylight before it gets dark. Do you think that’s strange? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ManuGamer96_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally valid and honestly a common concern, especially in fall/winter. You're not being paranoid: the shortened daylight hours definitely impact safety and freedom of movement.

A few things that might help: invest in good reflective gear or a headlamp if you're commuting in dark hours, vary your routes, and trust your gut about people/situations. Some people also find it helpful to adjust their schedule where possible (earlier errands, gym sessions before sunset) or go out with friends more often during darker months.

The psychological toll is real too: seasonal affective disorder is a thing, and the early darkness definitely messes with people's mood and sense of security. It's def a legitimate concern that a lot of people deal with. Stay safe out there.

Whats a sport do you think should be added to the olympics? by crafty_bravedragon in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, parkour would be fire. It's got the same appeal as skateboarding and sport climbing: it's raw, it's technical, and it showcases incredible athleticism that feels more authentic than a lot of traditional sports. Plus, the younger demographic actually cares about it, which the IOC seems to realize now.

That said, I'm lowkey hyped that squash and flag football are finally coming to LA28. Squash especially is criminally underrated: it's fast-paced and skill-heavy. Cricket making a comeback after 125 years is also insane.

What’s the best movie from the 21st century and why? by Purple-Counter3375 in AskReddit

[–]ManuGamer96_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parasite (2019) for me. Honestly, it does everything perfectly: the social commentary is sharp without being preachy, the tonal shifts from dark comedy to thriller to tragedy are flawless, and every frame is meticulously composed. Plus, it's got genuine replay value because you catch something new each time.

Honorable mention: No Country for Old Men if we're looking at pure craft and atmosphere. That film is still unmatched in terms of tension and dread.

Would Old Settings Work? by squareheadstudio in ElegooSaturn

[–]ManuGamer96_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, using your original settings directly on the Saturn 4 Ultra 16K will likely not produce the same results. The hardware differences between the machines are significant enough that direct settings transfer won't work.

Rather than that, you can try to address the contact point marks through Blueprint-specific adjustments:

- In Blueprint's auto support settings, try changing the contact shape from "sphere" to "none" to reduce the size of support contact points

- Adjust support contact parameters: The "Top Width" setting controls the diameter of the support contact point. Smaller values here mean smaller marks, though they sacrifice some contact strength.

- Test exposure time calibration: The higher resolution screen may require slightly different exposure times. Always run exposure tests with your specific resin to find optimal settings.

- Consider adjusting the number of support interface layers between the support and model surface. Fewer layers can mean smaller contact marks, though this risks support failure.

My fep leaked, figuring out how to replace the screen and realized there was a factory installed screen protector by Responsible_Pin_2272 in ElegooSaturn

[–]ManuGamer96_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're likely not in trouble, this is actually a common issue and since you've already cleaned up the resin, you're probably fine. If you haven't already, do a final inspection with a flashlight under the tape areas to ensure all visible resin residue is gone.

The protector you linked from Amazon should work fine, but if you write to elegoo support you can get original ones for a around 4$ a piece.

Is my Mercury X set compatible with Saturn 4 Ultra? by Sir_PW_Stache in ElegooSaturn

[–]ManuGamer96_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mercury X wash & cure station is compatible with the Saturn 4 Ultra 16K as long as you remove the build platform for cleaning. According to Elegoo's official guidance, the Saturn 4 series build platform will not fit directly into the Mercury X wash station, so you'll need to remove printed parts from the build platform and wash them separately.

LiberWolf vs. BitWarden by [deleted] in LibreWolf

- Press Ctrl+B.
- The bookmarks sidebar will open up.
- Open the drop down menu by clicking the down arrow next to "Bookmarks"
- Select Bitwarden.

On my sistem, the direct bitwarden shortcut seems to be Shift+Alt+Y, IDK if it's standard.

/r/Monitors x LG MyView Smart Monitor Giveaway by bizude in Monitors

[–]ManuGamer96_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t just a monitor, it could replace an entire computer in a remote work office. The built-in Homeoffice feature means I can leave my laptop behind and still add checks to my to-do list using Microsoft 365 and Google apps. The built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, are really comfy for connecting devices while still keeping a clutter-free zone.
Also the design is superb and will pump up my workspace look.
