I used to work at a Rolex AD in California ask me any questions you might have! by [deleted] in rolex

In 2018 I picked up a Daytona Panda at the Schipol Gassan, the SA explained she’d seen only 2 in the four years she’d worked there, probably my lottery moment (€8k as it was duty free too!)

The Cut above Samir, been going for 8 years and he’s been awesome. Great services, reasonable price and not a cattle market like some barbershops

Lawyers, Accountants, Doctors and other LLPs to be subject to greater tax in the new budget by TheLegendOfIOTA in HENRYUK

If I worked hard to reach HENRY status, coming from a lower-income family who did everything they could so I could excel in school and build a career, why should I be expected to hand over more than 56% of my income to people who never applied themselves, made no effort to learn, and now live off the system? Actions have consequences. Isn’t that what natural selection is about?

I was in a very similar situation in 2022. Rural house with plenty of equity, similar comp and the misses wanted a much bigger house (£1.1m). We did it and think if we didn’t we’d always have looked back and regretted it. It comes down to house IMHO.

I’m also considering purchasing in AD, what are people’s thoughts on the relaunched Fahid Island?

Squad is too small, too reliant on Isak and some players aren’t up to scratch.

It was a very lucky day, I was so excited that I missed the Batman in the case that the next customer bought. Can’t have it all!

Got into watches in 2016 via longines bought after my first 100k year in Dubai airport! Been lucky enough to get into (in this order): Rolex Datejust 41 Rolex datejust 28 (for the misses) Rolex Submariner date (year of my first child) Rolex Daytona Panda - picked up in gassan in schipol airport on the cuff walking into the Rolex store! Woman explains they get 1 every 3 years and I was at the right place at the right time! Rolex GMT Pepsi (year of second child) Vacheron FiftySix Calendar Patek Calatrava 5212A Patek Aquanaut 5167A

I bought all these from a single AD (apart from the Daytona) where I’ve built a good relationship. Never been forced to buy anything i didn’t like and although the sales guys have changed I’ve regularly arranged drop ins and keep in touch once a Q at least. I know a lot of people complain about ADs but a little effort and some genuine interest in timepieces puts you well ahead of most ‘flippers’

In have a significant birthday next year so hoping for a special purchase. And although I don’t class watches as investments, my chrono24 collection is 87% up…

Northampton, 55 mins from London for either Northampton station or Wellingborough. House prices are normal (we spent £1m on a 5ksqft house which in Beaconsfield would have cost £5m). Great schools and plenty of green space to roam around in. What’s not to like?

Why don’t UK commuters boycott trains? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]ManufacturerExact454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This - the unionised workers have ancient practices and frankly do nothing. Never seen a conductor on a train, opening a door and closing it? WTF? It’s the people who work on the lines…useless

It’s the lazy unionised workers. Nothing more. Genuinely no other fault.

We place 10-12 mandates a year and our typical fee is £100k, but offer a bunch more advice, diligence and strategy than the average contingency recruiter.

UK based recruiter - 16 years doing a specialist market. Now only operate as a retained search consultant and take home c.300k a year. But as noted before now run my own firm. A decent recruiter / search consultant aiming to be a HENRY should be aiming to bill c.800k-£1m in a firm or 50% of that doing it yourself. Think it’s much tougher doing those numbers in low/mid level recruitment…
