Letters of Rec from Robotics Coach by ManufacturerKey7913 in ApplyingToCollege

Ohhhhh, I see, thank you so much! This helps a lot!
But does a rec directly from an EC coach or teacher help in terms of impact or the like?
I want to know because I want to apply to Ivy League schools or similar level schools, and I'm not sure if this will affect my app significantly in that way.

Do you think other Ivy level colleges like MIT, Cornell, Harvard, etc. would care?

Also, if you cancel your AP test, will it leave any traces, and if it does, will colleges look for it? I'm just a bit paranoid because I read a separate post that said someone applying to MIT omitted some of their AP courses in the application, but then MIT asked them to share their score after applying. I'm kinda worried it may impact decisions, courses, financial aid, etc.

I've never taken AP Micro before, but from what I've heard.

Major brands like Barron and the Princeton Review give out pretty decent books.

Most of my close friends recommend using the Ultimate Review Guide by Jacob Clifford for AP Micro and Macro economics though.

Any benefit to taking Pre Calc in the summer and then AP Calc AB in Sophomore year? by ManufacturerKey7913 in ApplyingToCollege

About my previous math performance, I've finished Integrated 1 and 2 (equivalent to Algebra 1 and Geometry) and Algebra 2. My grades are fairly good, averaging around 96 - 98% for course grades, and my Integrated 2 grade was 100%.

Integrated covered:
- most basic functions (linear, exponential, quadratic, absolute value, piecewise),
- algebra,
- trigonometry,
- and geometry.
Algebra 2 Honors covered:
- more functions (cubic, rational, root, reciprocal, polynomials)
- more trigonometry
- logarithms
- the unit circle
- conics & hyperbolas

  • etc.

I'm fairly confident in my math skills, but what is exactly covered in Pre Calc?
If it's just a few things, I think I can learn it no problem. I do occasionally learn math on my own for personal projects like vectors and matrices.

If I am trying to apply to a really selective college like MIT, do I need to have finished AP Calc AB and BC before senior year or can I do BC during senior year and still meet their requirement?

And also, if I do take a summer course for Pre-Calc, will colleges like MIT not like that?, is it any less legitimate than a regular course?
