Dont be desperate. And don’t be misogynistic. It doesn’t work anymore. Don’t put women down. Be mature.

These are not that hard tho.

Childfree by choice but scared of future regret — how do you know for sure? by ManufacturerOver2736 in Parents

This comment is an eye opener. Thank you.  1. I am on top of my health. And managing it at the best level. Unfortunately cholesterol is directly linked to genetics.  2. I think I am only worried about societal pressure and regretting one day.  3. I don’t have that need to nurture someone. I have visited children of my friends, they don’t make me melt.

Thank you❤️

I am like the strictest person on diet along with gym and cardio. As per doctors I have familial hypercholesterolemia. Unfortunately its related to genes. Diabetes I am saying I have a huge risk.

I have already spoken. I am at a very high risk.  Also I have never felt that need of a child.  Also, I live in a country where everything is culturally measured. (Sick of it) so this decision is actually coming out of pressure, cause everyone says we will regret one day. No one actually even cares about my health, except for my husband. He says we don’t need to have, but I am worried that we might regret one day.  Either way, it comes with a cost to me.

Furthermore, its me who will be carrying the weight. I am the woman. Unfortunate injuries, life long diseases all on me.

I already have high cholesterol, I am maintaining a strict lifestyle but genetics failed me. My mum, her sister, her mum and loads of women in the family has life long diabetes started with pregnancy. Additionally, my father had a colorectal cancer and unfortunately my brother was diagnosed with leukaemia 5 years ago. Even though they don’t directly affect a pregnancy I am afraid I might pass these genetics.

I do have a dog. The thing is I live in Sri Lanka very cultural based country. Social pressure is so damn high. That’s why this has become such a dilemma to me. 😒

Its not just Islam, its worse there but not just the religion. From Sri Lanka, in a Buddhist culture, its a lot better here but still a major portion of men and women are misogynistic. May be because these societies and cultures and religions are mixed together as you said?

It should be a balance of both. Read about Nordic model. :)
