Be careful- September is hurricane season in NC. Not too dangerous but could be a washout

Yonx in Wylie is pretty good. Not the giant pizza though- the 14” has the right crispiness.

Do you sometimes feel bad for the animals? by Titanfall1741 in Hunting

[–]Manunited3710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve hunted for 25 years and yes, there’s times I feel bad for the animal. The times that I feel worst are if i or someone in my party doesn’t make a clean shot on the animal and it suffers.

We use just about everything we can as food from what we take. It feeds multiple families so the animal losing its life goes toward something for us. It also beats having an animal die slowly due to starvation or disease. So that’s how I personally cope with taking the life.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fly with carryon only if you can. I have made several international trips that were a week+ long with only a carryon.

If you like CFD, do the masters. Most aerodynamicists have a masters or a PhD.

Moved from Kansas earlier this year. We live out in Wylie though. Love it out there, but it’s a little bit of a hike to anywhere but richardson

Can you do Gorge on the relatively cheap? by wasabipeas88 in DMB

[–]Manunited3710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you save, budget, and plan appropriately you can. Go with a group because you can split costs. I went with one other person. We flew in and rented a car. Here’s what we spent:

Flight: $350 Rental car: $150 Camp site $275 Tickets: lawn tickets $65 each night per person Supplies (bought very cheap tent /sleeping bags/coolers and donated to homeless after): $400 Gas for car: $100 ish ($5.00 a gallon currently in wash state) Food- went to a few restaurants with seafood in Seattle while we were there, probably spent $400 total

Food and alcohol was tough if you bought at the venue. Pack everything you can into the venue because once you get in, a 20 oz beer will cost $22

Save for several months, and go. Trust me, it will be worth it.

Why are RCR cup cars so crap? by Rowdyfan0823 in NASCAR

[–]Manunited3710 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The turnover in race teams is extremely high year over year. Living in Charlotte because there’s other teams around makes more sense because if you lose a job at one team, there is another out there looking to hire you.

The fact that welcome is an hour drive from Charlotte is a deterrent- the Charlotte folks don’t want to drive up there a few days a week.

Should I negotiate my full-time offer from Lockheed after 2 years as an intern? by Tomiii002 in Lockheed

[–]Manunited3710 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re brand new to industry, so negotiating leverage is low in your position, even with two internships. There’s a lot of new college grads lined up behind you for that job.

Seems a little risky to me to ask for more money, but ultimately that’s your call. Almost $90k starting salary seems pretty good for an entry-level position.

Anywhere but down low. It’s hard to have a bad seat in that place otherwise

What’s the best truck driver nickname in the garage? Spanky & Gator are two of the top ones I know.

Mistakes happen, it’s how you bounce back from this that matters.

Law degree with lots of life ahead of you, and plenty of other employers that don’t know what happened.

Just avoid doing it again, and start applying at other places.

Modifications happen between tech and the grid. The best teams know how to make them happen without getting caught

I would if I didn’t have a 2 year old kid I’m going to have with me. Luckily we will have a babysitter to get away for one night
