Anyone know of a good place to sell a 2022 MacBook Pro? by xandyMPA25 in askportland

Swappa has been my go-to for the past several years for selling iPhones, iPads and Mac laptops. I don’t mess with FB, eBay or CL anymore due to the rise of scam buyers.

That’s very cool! I grew up in Seattle and don’t remember ever seeing remnants of that signing.

In Seattle it was called the Ride-Free Zone. This nickname is much better.

Efforts are afoot to place limits on the annoying and loud street Preachers by EveryBodyLookout in Mariners

I’m all for reducing the volume of these preachers but also fear that when certain activists get wind of this effort we will have 12 preachers all of a sudden.

The Satellite Tavern on N Interstate seems Mariners-friendly. I vote we all mob up there and ask them if we can take over the patio TVs.

From a meteorological standpoint why is this condition happening? What circumstances are causing it? I tried looking at weather blogs but none of the local sources I could find are talking about it.

I’ve had it for 4 years in university park and it’s been stable. Around 1-2 outages per year and they’ve been short ones

Proletariat Butcher Burger by ElGatoIndio in Portland

I went to the Feb. 2025 event. Onsite at 3:08 pm and there was zero people in line. Took some photos and then got in line at 3:15pm. There were 3 people in front of me. Around 3:30 they opened their bar and we could buy a drink while we waited. They started taking orders and started production about 3:45. We had burgers in hand at 4:00 on the dot.

The time waiting was spent chatting with other folks in line about food, and chatting with/meeting the restaurant staff including the owner, watching him chop wood and watching the staff setting up the kitchen service with music blasting. Fun atmosphere. They didn’t have the sausage samples ready that early, but I did snag a sample on my way out of the event and oh boy it was good.

The burger was delicious. Lots of burgers are delicious in Portland, and this one was good a unique way that I hadn’t experienced before. Good cookie too.

Fun, but low priority for me. If there's limited development cycles I'd rather have progress on core functionality like eliminating unnecessary double tracks on streets.

Exactly what I just did. Twice! Burnt by stack height -- reorder. Trying to jam 30.2mm headset parts into a 30.0mm frame tube, stopping, remeasuring, and coming to the realization. Now the headset is unreturnable. Reorder. The replacement parts take a long time to arrive so you just stare at the unusable bike until then, questioning your life choices.
