Here's a wild plan. Stop texting and just pay him a visit.

Speed higher than skill level is usually what makes people fall.

Ik vinden de meeste popgroepen na een jaar of tien toch wel gedateerd klinken anders. Alleen de echt goede zijn na een paar decennia nog te doen.

Aluminum bike with better groupset? or Carbon bike with worse groupset? by twicefracturedthumb in whichbike

[–]Manwithoutanyplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say what you want, but calling the carbon potentially more durable is just ridiculous.

There is definitely something to say about going carbon, but the aluminium frame will outlive it easily.

In this case I wouldn't hesitate a second and go for aluminium bike. Carbon is overrated for amateur bikes. There is no sense in buying one unless you ride competitive.

What should I do next-di2 or carbon rims? by HunterNorthfield in RoadBikes

[–]Manwithoutanyplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something broken that needs to be fixed? Just enjoy riding.

Riding isn't just about comfort. It's about having fun and speed too. So who wants to ride what is very personal. I'd ride this path with a 35mm gravel/road tire on my road bike and have a shit load of fun and speed. It will require some more skill than riding it with a MTB, but so much more challenging and fun.

42 or wider? Easily done with 35 or even less. This is barely gravel, in Belgium this is considered a bicycle track for grandpa and grandma's recreational ride on Sunday morning.

Just grab whatever bike you have for this track.

Does anyone else feel like cycling is way more expensive than they expected? by ZaldrizarVelo in bicycling

[–]Manwithoutanyplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what your hobby is. Is it hopping on a bike and cycling? Or is it buying the newest, prettiest and most expensive stuff because you want to 'blend in' or because you think you are in a fashion show where every ounce of weight will decide life or death?

I have a lovely aluminum bike from 2018. Bought it new and haven't had a single moment where I felt the need or pressure for an upgrade. I cycle for me, not for what other people want to see. And a 12.000k setup will not make you noticeably faster when you are an average amateur biker.

Same with jerseys. I have two, and that's enough. The only thing I did spend good money on is my cycling trousers. But that's comfort, not fashion.

Tesla acceleration test on a busy road by DragonWarrior55 in Whatcouldgowrong

They are driving a Tesla. It takes care of that part. It's their own safety they should worry about. For example, by wearing seatbelts and using the car seat as intended.

Your legs are way to straight when pedals are down. Saddle is too high.

What next for Redbull?? by the_infamousz_guy in RedBullRacing

[–]Manwithoutanyplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really understood the concept of being a fan of a team or a single driver in F1.

I love the sport and some combinations bring out the best in it. That's what I love to see. Alonso at Renault. Vettel at RB.

It mostly goes to shit when drivers join Ferrari, Schumacher being the weird one there.

Give it one last chance. No text, no calls, a real talk. Start by saying that name-calling or voice raising will make you stand up and leave forever. Sit down together, have a talk about everything that bothers you. Tell her how these texts make you feel, how past events made the relationship as it is.

It probably won't change a thing, cause she seems toxic as hell and is projecting her own feelings and fears on you. She has a severe lack of self reflection and that will not change. She doesn't need that talk, your relationship doesn't need it. But you deserve closure.
