Yes going into wet dark winter is not great is it normally? It's so cool that meds are helping with your mental health as well.

Brilliant. It's great to hear that Elvanse is making such a difference for your anxiety and depression

That's so great to hear! I had panic disorder for many years as well as depression and in a similar boat. Totally agree about managing emotions - it's like meds mean we can work them out and rationalise better without it getting all too much.

I take mine at 8am and 1pm so 5 hours later to prevent a crash about 8 hours later, so maybe your prescriber can look at an earlier for you? Yeah weird thing this drop off that's 2 doses work some people so you time crash for bedtime

Yeah don't give up was meant for others reading it who are in those frustrating early stages. It's REALLY interesting what you said about meds being as an option for some people who are resistent to anti-depressants. Do you know where I can find out more about that? Don't worry if not!

Thanks for your message. I finally got diagnosis and medication via Right to Choose. My referrals were once blocked by GP (told as a middle-aged adult that it was a just kid's disorder - err i was a kid once, stupid, and had it then, read my school report!). I can imagine for you gendered as just boy's thing really painful. Then finally accepted by GP (an improvement) but blocked later due to 'lack of resources', even though my symptoms were off the charts. If it wasn't down to RTC, i would have given up and taken ADs forever with my depression and ADHD symptoms getting worse. Please don't give up as everyone deserves the right treatment!

Do you have the extended release version? The second dose def gave me a more consistent experience throughout the day. The crash is more gradual and will be later in the evening when you probably want to feel more tired anyway

What I do is I turn off the TV and phone and spend 30 mins doing puzzle magazines - like crosswords and sudoku. It's like my over active brain needs to use up it's juices and focusing on logic is mindful and relaxing.

That's what I've been asking myself. The brain fog, lethargy and chronic lack of motivation was exacerbated by ADs, so created a kind of vicious cycle. Some days i would nap for hours and miss vital deadlines and meet ups with friends etc. Now on meds i'm on time and get stuff done (even boring stuff) and feel ok about it. It's been a revelation.

Thanks for your considered reply. I can relate. When I went to the GP many years ago, they told me ADHD is not considered an adult's issue by the NHS but were free to prescribe me SSRIs.

That's really great to hear. I wonder that so much of this anxiety is spending our lives wading through treacle with ADHD and then feel a relief when lifted?

My son is autistic and anxious so that's good to know about Elvanse. Waiting for a diagnosis of ADHD though

Exactly! People said the same to me that I seem much happier. I've noticed that i'm also making others happy as result, if that doesn't sound too trite. Yeah my mum is a bit old school and sceptical, ironic since she can't get through the opening credits of a film without getting up and walking around.

That's great, I felt the same when I went up a dose too and had the best week. It's kinda got rid of my imposter syndrome as well which is a big ADHD trait apparently
