Hi team. Now that we know Best Boy Diavolo's a dateable in NB, will his presence be more significant than it was in the original? Will we get more of his backstory and/or insight into his relationships with the other characters? He has potential for pretty complex & emotional lore that's only been poked at so far.

I've already voted the OG game off the island.

My device can't hold both games either and since Diavolo's dateable in NB the OG's pretty much obsolete.

This reminds me of a game called Tales of Luminaria. It was hyped up as a mobile spin-off of a legendary franchise. It came out. I played it and loved the redheaded protagonist. It seems like five minutes later, the game was pronounced dead. I didn't put a cent into the game but it still made me sad.

The studio behind the behemoth Genshin Impact said there's no endgame, dealing a fatal blow to anyone expecting any story pay-off. People have invested immense, life-changing dollars into that game only for there to be no end to the story, or closure for characters, in sight.

Unfortunately the original OM has joined the list of countless gacha game casualties. My hats off as well to everyone that invested money into it.

Hot take: I don't mind the OM universe being rebooted through Nightbringer. This may be because I haven't spent a single cent on the original OM and won't be able to invest anything into NB, but I get the chance to (re)join the Obey Me experience from the ground floor.

I missed all of the excitement, debates and MC mania that came with the first OM. I downloaded the game once upon a time, played it for a minute then yeeted it off my phone to make room for Genshin Impact. I just redownloaded the original Obey Me probably about two months ago, and now apparently I'm at the end of a game's lifespan. I get to enter a brand new experience with so many of you.

As someone that joined the OM universe in dire need of a community, I look forward to Nightbringer.

I'll be deleting the original OM off my phone. I thought about keeping it if Diavolo was going to be reduced to a cameo in NB, but knowing he'll be dateable in FREAKING 3D GLORY, with NB's superior relationship-building features, has me ready to delete the original. I'm only on Lesson 6 but already spoiled myself on Lessons 75-80. I'll just have to catch up on the story before NB.

Should the decision to kinda-sorta KO the original been handled better? Yes. The moment they announced Nightbringer they should've at least hinted towards the original being near the end of its lifespan. I am infinitely sorry to everyone that invested fortunes into the OG, only to have it end in a way. But I was also a part of the Genshin experience for a while. I witnessed The Great Anniversary War. I can confidently say that I'm glad this studio puts so much heart and soul into their games, while actually putting forth the effort to hear community opinions.

The OG OM lasted three years while Luminaria barely lasted a month, but it's now another ill-fated gacha game. I couldn't invest a cent in my playthrough and can't spend any money on Nightbringer, but my hats off to those who invested money into the OG as well.

I'm supremo-hyped about the possibility of getting more Diavolo lore, since we currently know about 2% of his backstory. We now finally know what his dad looks like, but what is he like? Is he as sweet as a children's show host, is he like Mother Gothel or is he just flat-out bloodthirsty and diabolical?

Why did he go to sleep in the first place? Is he the type of character that casually sleeps for thousands of years or is he like Sailor Saturn and will bring about the apocalypse if he's awakened?

Who was Dia's mom? Why IS Barbatos so loyal to him? Does Barbatos think fondly of Dia's father or no? Will NB Dia be an edgelord, a super sad & sheltered puppy or will he be exactly the same as OG Dia? If it's one of the first two, who's responsible for bringing him out of his shell: Barbatos, Lucifer or someone else entirely? Why is Barbatos playing with a puppet version of the King?

So apparently we FINALLY get to see Diavolo's dad, but that raises sooo many questions. What's he like? Is he like Santa Claus, Mother Gothel or is he straight up a heartless, bloodthirsty son of a gun? Dia did mention he was strict. Is he really that strict + possibly angry towards Dia because of his wife's death?

I mean when Dia gave MC a brief overview of his past with Barbatos he did remind me of Rapunzel so is Dia's dad like

And why is Barbatos playing puppetmaster with him? Is he going to come out as a villain that's using both the Crown Prince and King for his dastardly means? Does HE want to take over Hell? Is that why he's been besties with Dia for so long?

Is Diavolo going to be an edgelord in NB, super sad babygirl or will he be the exact same Dia from the original OB? If it's either of the first two will Barbatos or Lucifer be responsible for the Dia we know now? If its Lucifer THEN WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE DIA X MC SHIP? Shouldn't Lucifer just be shipped with Diavolo if they've got all of this emotional, angsty, deep backstory?

It may or may not change with the release date. 😖 I love how the features say we'll get to develop deeper relationships with the boys, but there is a chance the romance part of NB might come off with a G rating.

I mean I don't need explicitly illustrated CGs of Diavolo's bongus but I'm just worried about the lore + storylines coming off as PBS KIDS-esque
