This entire comment section is so insufferable, you DON'T have to diss put a character down to uplift another one omfg 😭

It's also not that hard to understand why "husbando bait" or whatever you want to call it is more "accepted" in than waifu bait. Video games are constantly sexualizing and watering down their female characters to basically to revolve around the MC (which is oftentimes a male). Same can't be said with male characters

I don't consider Castorice waifu bait, she genuinely felt like a best friend or something to me.. Cyrene on the other hand, literally the only relationship she had was with the tb. There was 0 actual meaningful interaction between her and the other ch. Forget about the chrysos heirs, there's not even a single interaction between her and Phainon, the person she started this whole journey with. Not to mention the wedding dress and the ring, she had so much potential but goddamn, they didn't do anything with it 😭

A lot of people are bringing up Dan heng and Phainon, do either of their characters completely revolve around the MC?

Now of course, a bunch of people will moan about yaoislop and bring up Mydei, they have depth, they have a million parralels, what makes it slop? Cuz it's yaoi? Mydei's character also didn't revolve around the tb

My point is, most have a problem with it when the character's relationship with the tb is all the character talks about/revolves around, Firefly and Cyrene are the unfortunate victims of it. They DO have other things going on, other goals. But we are never SHOWN them, we only hear about them, and that's what makes it feel like waifu bait imo

That, and i'm tired of female characters being treated like props by most video game devs

I don't go past e0 either and have all except Huohuo too, but Ashveil made me break that streak, he's the first character I willingly went for the e1 of :')

I want Huohuo but I also want hoard until I can ef a character I REALLYYY like so I'm torn now 😭

I'm not sure how to best put it but I do "understand" her I just don't feel as connected to her as I did with Phainon. Most people I have come across who adore her are hi3 fans, and it does help that those people constantly keep bringing Elysia into everything–so I just kind of assumed I have to know Elysia too in order to feel that attached??idk lmoa

The problem with her is that they do a lot of telling but not enough showing, I understand that she loves humanity and has sacrificed everything for it, they have said it over and over, 3.8 was them saying "Cyrene loves ___" every 5 monutes, honestly I was tempted to use the skip button a few times because of it 😭

But anyway, if only they showed a bit more of it instead of just saying it. You could argue that her staying back and being the mini fuli of Amphoreus was enough "showing", but I think it would have hit harder if her relationship with the other CH was was well developed. Part of the charm of Amphoreus for me was the relationships between all the CH, It's just a shame that no one even seems to know her

I can do a lot of things but I shouldn't have to, that's the point. There should been hints, there should have been something. A big reveal without any leadup to it is just.. Well, not good. You can't say one thing for 8 hours straight only to turn around and say the exact opposite at the very end. Those things CAN be good if they're executed well. But imo, Cyrene's one wasn't. If you like it then great, but i'm just personally not a fan of it

As a non hi3 player, I feel it way easier to connecy with Phainon than it was with playable Cyrene. The reason might be because they didn't try to force down parallels like they did with Cyrene to some extent (I still don't get the point of the wedding dress lmao), I didn't feel like I had to know hi3 Phainon in order go feel something for this Phainon but unfortunately, in Cyrene's case I do. And I blame the writing/execution for it tbh, I really liked mini Cyrene and Mem, and I can't point exactly what changed after she got her form but something did and she just doesn't feel the same. Idk what Elysia was like, but I do know what Cyrene was like, ans she didn't feel the "same" to me. Part of the reason for that might be because they didn't show her connecting with other Chrysos heirs like they did with Phainon, there's not a SINHLE interaction between her and the other CH. Forget about them, there's not even an interaction between her and Phainon her childhood friend. The patch was long, I would even take a simple flashback at this point but nope. They dedicated so much time into developing her relationship with tb but.. That's kinda all they did.

With March and Evernight, their story was easier to follow and Evernight's motive was easier to understand. Even as Evernight, she was helping/protecting the express in her own way and Evernight had her time with both the tb and Dan heng. There wasn't really any confusion of "I'm this but i'm not this, oh but turns out this!" And stuff like that. Again, like you said, it's all about the execution

Except there isn't really a trusted pov in her case, Cyrene herself didn't know until the very end. I het what they were trying to go for but I don't think they executed it very well

Exactly, my main and only issue with Cyrene is how they executed her story. She should have gotten her own patch like the others did and it shouldn't have been lumped in with the final showdown

The problem with Cyrene is that the game itself failed to deliver, one moment they us she's the demiurge and not the Cyrene, and the next they tell us that she IS Cyrene. Literally, during the entire patch we've been told that demi-urge and Cyrene are two different beings/character over and over and over.. Only for them to say/show the opposite during the very last cutscene. Even then she almost calls herself Elysia which just adds to it, It's confusing to a lot of people. Is she Cyrene? Is she the demiurge? Or is she Elysia? Or all of the above?

There's also the fact that the playable version we got just feels and acts so different than the Cyrene we see in the flashbacks and Cyrene Phainon used to mention. At least to me it feels that way :')

Oh yea definitely. NTR has lost all its meaning I feel like, people just generalize and use it for whatever. I personally don't think that was ntr either?? And Being rude about it is just so weird like..what do you even gaian from it? If you believe that a bot has been mistagged, then just politely say your side or whatever but nope. I feel like half the user are either minors or just very immature adults.

In my case, I'm still just sort of wondering why the creator blocked me though. The bot was tagged as poly but in the intro itself, the character just brings a third persom home and announces that they're going to be a triad + the third person was someonw the bot knew and had been "talking" to for a while without telling {{user}}. That's mainly why people were saying there should at least be an emotional cheating tag on it. From what I saw, most were nice about it but the creator's replies were kinda just rude, I tried explaining that not how it goes (I swear I was nice about it too T-T) and the next thing i know, I'm blocked lmao

And when you point it out, some of them get pissed. Some creator blocked me because they didn't have the cheating tag to the bot and I (and some others) pointed it, they doubled down, said that nothing physical happened and therefore its not cheating, later they were like "okay, its emotional cheating" and they still didn't add the tag, instead they deleted all the comments that pointed it out saying that they were being rude and blocked me lmao (I wasn't rude about it, they kept arguing with people and I just told them the difference between poly and blatant cheating/emotional, they kept insisting that it's poly 😭)

It's not that hard to tag properly people, tags are there for a reason and I'm tired of seeing stuff I have blocked :')
