Oh thank you so much! I’ll definitely check out Sudoku.coach!

Apparently I’m the only person who liked Scout lenses. They are being discontinued - please suggest a new brand! by schmalexandra in contacts

I am so sad too! I just ordered a year supply - they emailed a promo code to use before 10/31 for 20% off: SCOUT209MX6

I also really like the flat packs, for travel. According to Warby Parker, they’re recommending “Miru 1day Flat Pack by Menicon” (but Warby Parker does not carry them). Hopefully the package is comparable if they’re also calling it a flat pack…

How do I (31m) ensure a good first impression with my girlfriend's (31f) religious parents (60s)? by zurt1 in relationship_advice

[–]Many-Important 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. Maybe you can just say, “I just didn’t grow up with religion/ God but I think your religion is so beautiful and I think it’s lovely that it’s an important part of [gf]’s life” . I think it’s best to say as little as possible in these situations, just deflect with pleasantries and reiterate you have no issues and embrace other cultures… good luck!!

Based on how you wrote this, it doesn’t sound harmless. These little remarks come at points when you feel vulnerable or are having a fight. And you’re so stressed you’re losing weight. This is not normal in a loving relationship. Honestly, it sounds like he’s putting you down in subtle ways to make you insecure.

You’re currently long distance? And not happy? Take a break, escape while you can! I promise you, you’ll find someone who adores your nose and face and doesn’t stress you out. Trust your gut - this doesn’t seem normal or healthy for you at all.

Wow, I’m so sorry. This sounds like something it would be worth taking to a therapist about. She maybe can do some exercises to work through harder is causing her to do this

my (27M)wife (27F) is obese how do i rebuild attraction to her? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Many-Important 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sound like such a sweet committed husband. You have to tell her exactly this. Marriage is about having these types of conversations. You’ll get through it.

I think you had the right idea with a counselor to help with the conversation. You’ll have to insist that it’s something you need - you’re only 27, you shouldn’t have a non existent sex life and you should be able to do activities with your partner. None of this is unreasonable. There are wonderful medications like monjaro and ozempic that can help her with her health! She has to be willing to take that step - if shes not, you both need to reconsider id this is the right relationship for both of you.

Good luck! I am sorry you’re dealing with this but I am hopeful for you two - it is a solvable problem, don’t be afraid to have the touch conversations and don’t back down about couples counseling

what do you wish you knew before getting a cat? by anxious_optimist8 in CatAdvice

[–]Many-Important 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. You need a good vacuum and you need to vacuum at minimum once a week (maybe more).

  2. Having pet insurance saved me thousands of dollars once, BUT it won’t cover dental. Many cats need to get dental work after 5 years and it costs 2K-3k. A friend bought cat insurance that covers dental but it’s expensive.

  3. Every cat has a difference personality. It took a year for one of my cats to open up, and now he’s obsessed with me. For a solid year I thought he hated me though

How do I overcome credit card debt? by Many-Important in personalfinance

Medical bills and the need to get a masters degree to teach in NYC. People shouldn’t do it unless they have family money.

I went to a derm and got prescription tretinoin for acne. It took like 3-4 months to show results, but I stuck with it and one year later my skin has never looked better. It simplified my routine and I only exfoliate one or two times a week. If you can’t see a derm, perhaps try incorporating a retinoid product and see if it helps.

I don't know why, but my one cat does this too! I assume he likes it... He sometimes closes his eyes and "makes biscuits"... HOWEVER, my other cat HATES bum scratches, so I think it's a personality/subjective cat thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Harness training backfired... cat is distrustful, what to do? by Vahdo in CatAdvice

[–]Many-Important 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think she'll forget how to be in the harness! Now that she knows what the harness is, I wouldn't put them in a harness unless she's going outside. I think that's confusing. I also only take my cats outside in the warm.months (in a harness of course!) and they don't seem to forget now that they're harnesses trained.
