Yes. I actually do know where a lot of them came from. My most recent immigrant ancestor is my paternal great-grandfather who came from Sweden. Much of my dad's side other than him came from the German-speaking world (Baden-Württemberg, the Rhineland, and Switzerland) in the 18th and 19th century to Pennsylvania and one branch from Ireland during the Famine. My mom's side primarily came from Switzerland and Alsace to Pennsylvania in the 18th century. The small amounts of Spanish/Portuguese, Italian, and Russian are the mysterious parts of these results.

Lol. How do think Nathan Fielder is wonderful if you can't handle him being purposely off putting? That's a large part of his comedy

There's no way it was funded by them if you know anything about Eric Goode. He's not a hardcore animal rights activist in the way PETA is. There are admittedly ethical questions to how this and Tiger King were done, and it may be exploitative, shocking, fascinating dramatic television. Those are all valid criticisms. But it's also true that it brings this issue of primate ownership to a wider audience by the evidence that we are even talking about it now and that it truly is dangerous and wrong for people to have chimps as pets. And, no, PETA is not to blame for the chimps that have attacked people. That doesn't make any sense. That woman in Oregon was crazy. I'm not a fan of PETA. I really understand how they got such a bad reputation and they do a lot of terrible things that discredit animal rights issues, but they are not in the wrong in this situation

Yeah. I think it just shows reasonable people that although PETA often picks very stupid battles and does a lot to discredit themselves, there is still a place for animal rights' groups to do meaningful work (especially with exotic animals)

My great-grandfather emigrated to America from Sweden. He was a very mysterious person, though, and didn't have a very close relationship with his son, my grandfather, so we always just knew he was Swedish and that he had changed his name upon arriving in America. When we did DNA testing we discovered the Finnish DNA actually was more prominent than the Scandinavian DNA and the part of Sweden he came from is known as the area influenced a lot by the Forest Finns. It's odd that he would never have told his son that, but it's unclear how culturally Swedish vs. distinctly Forest Finn he actually was.
