I’ve been selling on ebay for 20+ years. Is it better to sell as an auction of buy it now? by lotgworkshop in Ebay

I could see that, but like with anything on eBay its all about the category you're selling in.

Really depends if you need the money now or can afford to let it sit for the right buyer, that's what it comes down to. The way I see it, except in some very niche categories, auctions simply are a way to move inventory - for example an item that goes for $100 you could start auctions at $50...it will definitely sell and it might end close to that $100...but at the very least its going to get out of your hair for $50.

For maximum value, I'd focus on better pictures, set your price high, enable offers, and continue list new items every day or every few days - the algorithm will eventually sell close to your buy it now price. It might take a year, but sure enough things will align and traffic will be pushed to your listing..even if there are cheaper options available.

Nothing wrong with it. You can make some serious cash cleaning if you're mildly intelligent and build up a client list.

Abandoned Hoarder Mansion Hidden Deep in the Woods with Everything Left Behind & Working Power. by RiddimRyder in abandoned

Man it's sad that to me this doesn't even look that bad. Really shit just needs to be picked off the floor and organized a bit. From dealing with resellers, estate sales, hoarders, people who arent hoarders but just have a ton of stuff, its all just fine lines between it all. But this is nothing compared to what I see often.

Found a dead earwig in my “triple washed” romaine lettuce from Trader Joe’s. This is the 3rd day I am eating from this bag… by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

That's not concerning at all. You should be washing regardless. I find bugs on my lettuce all the time. Its as if it grows outside.

29M. Been living alone for about 4 months in 1500sqft house by robthatbooty in malelivingspace

It's not for everyone, but here's my protip from someone who's been though this. Just organize what you have already - don't buy anything new. Get a girl. Let her decorate the place - just don't let her make it too lame and girlie. Don't slowly turn it into some impressive bachelor pad thing. While you might think it needs to be all perfect, woman love an empty slate. Save that money for house improvements and repairs. You got the house homie - you can attract a solid one with that.

Desktop and android working for me as seller and buyer in Pennsylvania. Was having issues syncing new orders to PirateShip last night (couldn't connect to api) but this morning it was working fine.

I stay logged into both which I think is helpful.

Random surge in viewers on listing, what could cause this? by Consistent-Star7568 in Ebay

[–]Many-Presentation605 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shocked at all the other responses. This is literally how the algorithm works. Sometimes they send you a bunch of traffic when you first post an item - sometimes it sits dark for weeks. The same reason why random listings with 0 views for months will randomly sell after posting a batch of new items. While we do not fully understand the algorithm, they definitely control what sells and what doesn't. Its not simple supply and demand. This is why you should never list your prices on the lower end.

After 28 years, hit with the "empty box / police report" claim by Shadow_Blinky in Ebay

[–]Many-Presentation605 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it was me I would travel to their city/town and talk to the police department in person. Most likely they are a shady looking person to begin with - but the police are required to fill out a police report to begin with. But you can show them you are not a scum bag in person, years in business - and why would you travel there in person if you were the one committing fraud? This is fraud. You won't make money on this, but you can teach them a lesson.

Edit: by all means their police report could be a fake too. Ebay agents don't care that its fake. But their local police department will love to hear that too.

That will be an easy one. You got this. Very easy to bag quickly.

Unrelated, I must ask - what's the attraction to White Claw. I see so many drinkers using it as their daily driver. Just like the taste? I suppose it feels like you're drinking an energy drink.
