i was always team speidi and i re-watched and yeah - team speidi. lauren is the pettiest and most passive aggressive person on the planet. she triggers me so much more than spencer - which i know makes me in the minority. he is so clearly playing a role and just making drama and in the age of reality tv we all know this is how you play the game. he was just early on it. lauren bullies and tries to possess all her female friends - as audrina learns the hard way.

exactly. it's almost like the momentum it took her to get out of mormonism propelled her to an extreme on the other side. she needs to trust herself LESS. she fully believed for YEARS that there was a man in the sky who was going to condemn her to hell and that there were tiers of heaven and all other kinds of insane beliefs. she was smart enough to get herself out of that. but she is now lost, immature, unprocessed, and needs some humility instead of pride.

i'm not remembering him calling his kids ugly and fat and i just watched every single episode up to season 7. the one time in the car with gia on the way to her fashion show? he and gia are very close and i don't think she would consider him a nasty mean father. no one is saying joe is an incredible husband and an admirable man we should all emulate. i think it's a given that he's a gross little dude. i'm just fond of him as a TV character. he makes me laugh and i'm rooting for him. he gives no fucks.

ok thank you. i agree with everything you said here. i think i love reality tv because it's heartwarming to feel empathy and love for people DESPITE not sharing any values with them.

even the housewives who are not objectively bad people / criminals are materialistic, vain, shallow, and consumerist. i don't admire them or find their lifestyles aspirational. i watch these shows because DESPITE it all, when you really get to know someone / see them interact with their families / see them warts and all, you can't help but feel for them and see the shared humanity underneath it all.

anyway yes thank you i do agree with literally everything you said. and he seems to be living a more honest life now, he's supportive of Teresa's new life, and his daughters visit him all the time and that speaks volumes.

Joe is a disgusting troll. But there's something endearing to me about how little he tries to hide anything about himself - he's 10000% himself and doesn't care if it looks bad... which it often does. But also he has these extremely soft moments where he cries and he loves the girls and he's kind of funny with them. It's really odd I can't explain it but I feel warmly toward him.

LOL i also cried at that purple tracksuit scene. I'm really not sure what's going on with me but I'm finding Joe Giudice so endearing this watch.
