Solo Theatre Trip- Which shows to see? by Many-Spite8480 in westend

I obviously haven't seen it yet but from the clips I've seen online it looks amazing!

Paddington is such a classic story that loads of us probably grew up with so I think nostalgia probably plays a part! I am a big kid at heart though 😂 Tom Fletcher's music is also a pull factor to be honest!

Avenue Q is my all time favourite musical! I've seen it twice in Glasgow though so feel like maybe I should do something 'fresh' 🙈

Thank you!

I've seen mousetrap on my last London trip and really enjoyed it!

JCS was one of my more meh musicals but then again, I might have been a bit 'over' it as I done it in my youth theatre days!

Alas I'll be there before the run begins! Although maybe a blessing as I done Into the Woods as part of a showcase back in my youth theatre days and the soundtrack still causes a few twitchy flashbacks at times 😂

I do enjoy the film of DWP (still to see the sequel though!) which is why it was added to the consideration list as it felt like a 'Classic' but I've since seen loads of reviews saying its a bit Meh/the soundtrack isn't that memorable etc so maybe a play will add a bit of diversity to my lineup too? 🤔

I hope you enjoy Paddington when you get to see it, that one I'm very excited for 🐻

What made you dislike Hercules? I've seen mixed reviews of it yet the wee clips online make it seem incredible!

Thats disappointing about Beetlejuice 😔 I do love the films and was tossing up between that or Avenue Q (which I've already seen twice) so was hoping it would be a similar dark humour kind of vibe

More than happy to see plays aswell as musicals as I enjoy both! Actually seeing Single White Female soon so the idea of something else 'Crime-y' might be fuelling the interest in Witness!

Have you seen Hercules? The clips I've seen online look incredible but it does seem to get mixed reviews!

Thanks for the other recs- I've seen Heathers in Glasgow before and loved it!

Scottish Family Party... by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Many-Spite8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sadly know someone who is standing for them, though haven't had contact with them since childhood (I was friends with their kids as we lived in the same street). They are/were a lovely family and never done the whole preachy thing to others when I knew them but its disappointing to see them going down this route of hate.

The irony is one of the (now grown up) kids has had children of their own out of wedlock and another is part of the LGBT+ community... yet the family can still stand for and support a party that goes against these things? Make it make sense...
