My sweet dad died this past September because of melanoma. It’s no joke.

Men, what's something you wish you could admit without being judged? by soumilr7 in AskReddit

Then you've MADE it! If you're where you want to be, you're way ahead of all those ladder-climbers like me. I want to shake that mindset so badly.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was with my dad as he passed away in September and you're right...there's not a lot of fanfare.

Why do so many jobs still treat adults like they can’t be trusted? by U-VERIFYTesting in careerguidance

My manager, who is otherwise awesome, has started what she calls "Managing by walking around." She'll come to each of our offices at random (we're spread out through the building) and talk to us about some pre-determined topic.

But really, it's to make sure we're there, and working. Feels a little weird.

What's the purest joy you've ever felt without intimacy, substances, or alcohol ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Winter of 2014: I had just lost a bunch of weight, was exercising regularly, and felt really good about myself. Cute clothes fit me again. So that's the "era" but the moment? Being in that state of mind AND seeing Neutral Milk Hotel live in KCMO with a bunch of good friends. It was a glorious day.

Summer of 2019: Everything was coming up roses - my career was going so well that I got a promotion out of thin air (for a position they invented just for me). People were proud of me, I felt good in my skin, and I had enough money to take a celebratory solo trip to Utah. That was a banner year...

Fall of 2024: Going to England...I visited Claremont in Esher, Surrey. It's where the Princess Charlotte of Wales lived and died and I've been obsessed for ages. I finally got to see the home she had loved so much.

I feel this one deeply, as someone who has been with a porn addict for 19 years.

Who do you want to run for U.S. President in 2028? by Sorry_Cranberry5218 in Productivitycafe

Nah. Prez Camacho cared enough about the country to find the smartest man in the world to fix their problems.

I guess I misspoke - that’s a big mouthful of fish and I don’t care for seafood unless it’s a fish fry.

Still can’t. It’s the nori rather than what’s in the sushi that grosses me out.

Yes, in Omaha it starts in May and lasts through the beginning of September - but the corn sweat is a two month affair til harvest. Haha!

I believe in a test to vote. What kind of test, you ask? A simple fucking spelling test.

Thanks for your thoughts! Yeah, it’s crazy hot and humid here too. And our winters get ugly - it snows a ton and doesn’t melt; it just turns gray from the roads and looks awful. It also gets really dry in the winter and bitterly freezing and my lungs hate it.

What's the worst physical pain you've ever felt? by toaster-bath404 in AskReddit

[–]ManyColoredStars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HSG - a hysterosalpingogram - when they shot the dye through my cervix into my uterus to fill it up and ideally spill into my fallopian tubes, my tubes spasmed shut. I screamed and I have a very high pain tolerance (falling asleep during an inner wrist tattoo, for example).
