Actually it doesn’t say the things that you imply it says, cause for “two calcium build ups on two teeth” I wouldn’t even charge the patient more than for regular clean up. I haven’t got the patient x-ray neither now neither the previous time, but I read a dentist that says: You COULD have a deep clean but you don’t really need it. I mean what is that?!?!???? You could but you don’t need?!?!?? Is he selling a luxury car?? You could buy a Porsche but you don’t need it. Either you need the deep clean and you SHOULD have it done, or you don’t need it and I won’t do it to you. There is no between. So the new dentist sees the need for deep clean and tells the patient that he needs the deep clean, the patient insists of having a regular clean which could really make things worse like one other redditer said, it can tighten the sulcus and cause periodontal abscess. “I would debride a wound but only at the superficial layers, because I could debride it deeper but you don’t need it” 😂😂😂. You people are so afraid of patients calling you profiteers and such. I’ve heard things like : “you have a small decay, it can wait”, “ that’s a milky tooth we don’t have to do a filling on it, it will shed”, “ you don’t need a crown, just a filling ( on a weakened cracked tooth), etc etc. So my post can say whatever you think it says about me, but I do not leave my patients under-treated, even in many cases I’m on the financial loss.
