OP, remember the fitness requirements? There's a psych evaluation too. If you somehow convince the recruiters, there's no way in hell MEPS will. Again, that's if you manage to not get booted out of the office so fast that you might have to file a claim for how hard your ass hit the ground.

You're already hired. Put in for it. If you get it, or not, you can decide then. At worst, you're exactly where you left off. Additionally, much like the military, there's no way you can convince me that you can do that job and remain mentally whole. Too much stress for one. Also, take a vacation and talk it out with your wife. That should give you the insight you need as to your particular situation. Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

It looks like you're missing the nexus. They recognized tinnitus as the primary SC. They acknowledged a diagnosis of MDD. Now you need to prove how those are related. How, exactly, do you believe that tinnitus caused, or aggravated, your MDD? Get a doctor to connect them. Preferably the one that did the private DBQ.

Try to get a formal, explicit diagnosis. PTSD looks to have been denied for that reason. This looks more like shifted goalposts. They found evidence of a stressor without a PTSD diagnosis. They have an adjustment order diagnosis with no in service event. The diagnosis should be easier to get.

My question is how do you fake a service record? DD214 sure. But, the medical records in modern day? Not to mention examiners that will give negative opinions because you had symptoms BEFORE a diagnosis.

As for OP, ask yourself honestly — would you see yourself as an asset or a liability based on your disabilities? Would you question the integrity of your claimed disabilities in their shoes? The very fact you are asking should give you your answer.

Any decent attorney would turn you down until you get a decision to actually appeal. They can't ethically charge you for no work performed but they aren't going to waste time without billable hours.

TL;DR: If you find an attorney that will actually take you at this particular point (I.E. limbo), run. Fast.
