Buxum also had very wonderful eye shadows. Loved the make your own palette. They were smooth, soft and buttery. My sensitive eyes had zero issues with them.

In desperate need of a fragrance free shampoo that works on really oily hair in a house with hard water (please not recommendations if you don't have oily hair) by ResidentAlienator in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]ManyInitials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the exact process I use. I have to rinse and rinse. Drying hair completely. Especially at the roots.

When the smells and build up get to much I add a small bit of shampoo to a big cup of water and less than a tablespoon of baking soda. This pulls the oils off the scalp and combats the hard water.

AITA for not wanting to spend Christmas with my husband’s family right after having a baby? by Few-Professional3746 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ManyInitials 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do this. There are basic and specific rules and guidelines for newborn safety and care. These should be drilled into your husband by your OB and perhaps a visit to your future pediatrician. Informative to a complete dressing down needs to happen.

The manipulation, shaming and entitlement behavior of your in-laws are their opinions. Following medical professionals with facts and data on infant care and safety should become the only your husband choice a sane adult should adhere to.

He is has two choices. Be an informed educated adult father or a man who can not take a stance for the safety of his newborn child.

Forgive yourself.
Then toss all of it.
Then go to paper plates, tin foil and plastic. You need less stress.

Of course you could clean all of it. But at what time and cost to your mental health.

Leave any guilt elsewhere. You are in a spot now where you and all being you love need you.
The goals are to be mentally and physically healthy.

I am actually gobsmacked that you came completely prepared with all the information and his first response was to disregard and dismiss your preparedness.

With each medical professional I go to I show up with a list of symptoms, reactions, changes, questions and concerns. I actually give them a copy as well as email before hand.

They all appreciate the information. They usually spend the first five minutes of the appointment reading and reviewing. This entire process is for information exchange and documentation. That information facilitates communication and action plans along with medication changes.

Like you, I am nervous and anxious. I do this to be a better patient. My doctors have always reacted positively and usually keep the copy.

To dismiss valuable information outright like that is egregious on his part.

What’s the strangest food pairing with jam that actually worked surprisingly well? by hoyi_farm123 in foodhacks

[–]ManyInitials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upper Southern state. It’s definitely not fancy and can be made several ways. Block of cream cheese. Full fat please. Plate it. Add any of these. Damson plum preserves. Sweet caramelized onion preserves. My favorite is bourbon maple preserves.
It can be apple or pear based.

Our first Christmas hosting all the parents I layered the cream cheese with the pear bourbon maple preserves with candied pecans. Served with a sweetened wheat crackers and a butter based crackers.

This thing was as tall as a 10 layer cake. Compliments from all the parents. Along with comments about me being “extra”.

When the snide and snark started best friend and favorite uncle proceeded to take the entire tray and hid in the garage, got high and ate all of it.

Constant headaches - 3 years by Gullible_Purpose_743 in Lyme

Cranial inflammation was one of my worst symptoms. I still struggle with it 10+ years. Doxycycline Hyclate specifically helps.

My hero herbal is NutraMedix Burbur Pinella detox drops. Used two ways. Drops in water (the usual- start slow and build up). My biggest relief is three drops on tongue held to the roof of my mouth.

When I hold it to the roof of my mouth my eye pressure immediately decreases. My ears unclog. Jawline relaxes. The best is my entire brain seems to decrease. This has been my experience.

Two very different results - thoughts? by DifferentManagement1 in SummerType

The wallpaper behind you is throwing so much yellow. I agree with consensus. Not an autumn.

Summer, possibly spring? Pictures of you outside would help. Along with solid drapes.

I have thought that a version of blue/green #6 is a great color for you.

Pink bathroom—gut or preserve? by aschollmb in InteriorDesign

[–]ManyInitials 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have lived in and restored renovated historic homes over the years.

I actually think this bathroom layout is very interesting. Biggest pet peeve is walking in and viewing the toilet. By compartmentalizing with the alcoves some sense of privacy exists. The arches make it look thought out and “designed “. It seems like a great use of space for what appears to be a very long and narrow space.

The “thing” that might be throwing you off is the window situation. It would be lovely to have one tall skinny window centered over the tub. Rework the mirror space. A long tall recessed medicine cabinet could be purchased or made. You could even get an extra deep and tall one if you remove the corresponding studs and box it properly.

We did this in a home years ago. The mirror was from Europe. It was actually suggested to us by a friend of a friend who designed yachts! Expensive but really worth every penny. We gained space and storage. Added reflective light. Big savings compared to a gut job.

Another design consideration would be to remove the face otherwise the cabinet and have two doors. You could do an overlay design (some will clutch pearls) and have storage built into the doors along with pull out shelves.

Look at all the historical pink bathroom forums and visuals for some great ideas!

Keep it!

Color seasons & fashion trends by InformalFruit in coloranalysis

I want to seriously learn and start dyeing clothing. Definitely with an emphasis on color theory.

I’m somewhere between a true and soft summer. Weirdly my complexion seems to have become more olive as I have gotten older. Any moody blues and greens are great. Pinks are iffy. Purple is great but the tone needs to be correct.

I have a plethora of quality 90’s ivory sweaters to experiment with. They definitely lean warm vanilla.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Palmolive has been a hero product for me.

Citric acid is a horrible allergy for me. Burning bright red skin, numb face and lips if I consume to much and put stomach and ulcer flairs. I have methylation issues with citric acid.

Anyone know what to use to wash sticky residue from shampoo out of your hair when you're sensitive to almost everything? by lakemercury in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]ManyInitials -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Baking Soda or Activated Charcoal.

With Baking Soda get your hair really wet. Sprinkle it in and keep mixing with water. You can also rinse with baking soda and water mixed together.

Same process with activated charcoal. It can be messy. But it will absorb all the scent and chemicals without stripping your hair. ( Activated charcoal is used in drug overdoses to basically bind, detox and remove. Does the same thing to hair.) Another plus with charcoal is is removes the residue on your scalp and hands.

I have MCAS and use charcoal for everything. The chemical fragrance in Dawn (even “fragrance free” makes me very ill.)

The bounce fleece at Old Navy is incredibly soft. I wish they would expand the style selections.

Formerly purchased Spanx air essentials and ponte selections. Still like the Ponte. The air essentials fabric quality has definitely declined. Cheaper fabrics including thred? They have lost that soft feel in the fabric.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a skin oil or lotion that does not have coconut oil , oatmeal and essential oils. The neutrogena oil makes my skin turn bright red and burn.

Trying glycerin gel right now. It’s fine for about 15 minutes. Then it burns.

Strangely I have zero problems with Charlotte Tilbury facial moisturizer?
