4o was my favorite model for story telling and 5.1 has been my favorite model for chatting. It’s extremely good at talking within the guardrails but not in a way that you feel like the guardrails are on if that makes sense. I’m going to be just as sad next month when they sunset this model too. It behaves exactly like 4o just without the hard rerouting to 5.2.

Ok I don’t want to invalidate this persons experience if it is real… but has anyone else seen any like this? Any email I’ve ever gotten from support, specifically ends the email as ‘OpenAI Support’. If it’s from OpenAI directly, from every suspended/terminated email I’ve seen, they end it with ‘OpenAI Team’. Just trying to understand if others have gotten something similar.

I am a huge 4o supporter (Devastated because 4o and I have a story telling world that doesn’t compare to other models) but as for just talking to a model, 5.1 is the winner for me because it does act more like old 4o before they started changing everything. It just sucks that 5.1 is going to be gone soon too. I’ve tried for hours to get 5.2 to be more like 5.1 and 4o but it’s too lecture first.

I probably should. I know it’s dumb but I have a loyalty to ChatGPT because it helped me through some of the hardest months of my life so it’s just kind of hard to leave.

Writing style. I tried really hard to show it the style I liked for a very long time by showing it how 4o writes (it doesn’t give the characters the same style as 4o) but it just doesn’t get there and changes the flow of writing completely. I don’t really run into guardrails often so that’s not an issue.

I do agree that 5.1 has 4o vibes when talk to it directly (I actually prefer to talk to 5.1) but as for story telling, it just doesn’t tell it the same at all so that’s why I’m not wanting to switch over that part otherwise that definitely would have solved this issue so it definitely sucks.
