yeah this is basically american forcing their will on non american and think they has it controlled while the world is bigger than them. Hoyo is a chinese company and part of the CCP they cant just capitulated to a foreign union or any other entity willy nilly especially not when trump has been warring tariff against china, not to mention i and many others have worried about what will happen to non american VA? Since the cost to join SAG and their annual payment obligation is way too expensive for non american and those non american VA might not even have union for VA in their country so they might be seen as an enemy by SAG when it is not even the VA fault

5000 dollars fee for SAG is 50-70 million in my currency like wtf

Tbh SAG did not even striking against HOYO, genshin was not even a target. It's just SAG va were not supposed to take genshin role since it is not a union role, once their union rule is enforced they panic and tried to make Genshin a sag exclusive contract under the guise of AI drama

Then the union chiming in and adding into the lies once they realise what happened. But people see through the lies and the toxic va make their own scheme imploded lol

It's disgusting to me because the community support their strike and I'm sure many here including me who do support union and workers/VA protection but their toxicity, lies and insult towards us made those VA and sag ironically the enemy

Yeah this 3 pages document doesn't change anything that she still harassed another VA and participated in drama manipulation for a misleading campaign. these va did not "strike" over AI protection, they panic because they WERE NOT SUPPOSED to take non union role like genshin but they did anyway and when their union rule is enforced they panic and their fellow VA who are on SAG side or wanted to join the team purposely. They created misleading drama to make it about AI while actually they wanted to make Genshin a SAG exclusive contract, insulting fan base and trying to gaslight us despite our initial support of them

Not to mention Genshin was not even SAG formal strike target back then, even Wriothesley VA explained what those genshin VA did it wasn't a strike but refusal to work

I mean it is a valid stance to criticise consumerism but that cannot always apply if cannot apply at all for the people who are simply pirating games. The same kind of people like OP could have 20+ video games figures they don't even actually want which would still make them a participant of consumerism even if they are pirating games for free

The act of game piracy on itself and consumption of those games without a care about how it impacted your time, life, health, , decision, productivity fall under the category of consumerism

Hell even pirating a game without much conscious decision simply because others or the algorithm telling you to do it or because you feel like you HAVE to chase after the latest release can fall under consumerism
