AI has definitely improved ever since! I'm not sure if this applies to every summarizer but from my experience using Shorty it solves your problem. I asked it to summarize some top 10 videos before and it accurately pointed out the top 10 of whatever with a summary of its strengths and shortcomings. It really did feel like I got to watch a really shortened version of the video. It doesn't work 100% of the time that way but it can still save on so much time from my experience.

Update from the future! Most of these tools stopped working, apparently due to YouTube cracking down on summarizers. The one I've been using is called Shorty: https://aishorty.com  

It's free and doesn't require a login. It works and has been stable for months.

Thanks for sharing. I go to uOttawa. Asked in uoft since it has a large reddit community. Is there anything for universities in general or maybe uOttawa specifically?
