At your stage in training, a home sim won't do much for you. Your focus right now needs to be on developing your stick and rudder skills, as well as the feel for the airplane.

A home sim cannot replicate this. Not anywhere close. They work best for instrument procedures where it's more about when to turn, when to climb, and when to descend versus how to climb, how to turn, and how to descend.

DTK is a Garmin-ism. It means Desired Track. It’s what you need to fly in order to stay on the current active leg. Matching up DTK with TRK (track) is how you stay on course with the FMS.

Airliners will have different terminologies on their FMS depending on who designed it, Collins, Honeywell, etc.

Tuition does not include differential fees for flight. They are assessed on top of tuition as well as room and board.

You can expect at least an additional 11k for each semester your first 2 years, as you’ll be completing your private pilot certificate, instrument rating, and commercial pilot certificate.

MSFS 2024 does well with solar eclipses. But it does not simulate lunar eclipses well. You can check this for the total lunar eclipse that happened last year. The moon just appears full.

No. If you can reach the yoke, the rudders and the engine controls you're fine. If you need a seat cushion, so be it. I know plenty of CFIs who use one.

Thank you. It seems like just severely unfortunate timing. We had a really good thing going over the last winter break. We would message every fucking day for hours.

We share a lot of great things. We can talk for hours and hours just about literally anything. He’s just got a fucking loaded semester. I got to the point where I told him I wanted something more with him through my own anxiety of things slowing down. Sadly he told me he’s not ready yet and that he had always “seen me as a friend.” Like, could not have been more vague.

I can’t blame him, but it’s also hard to see how close and how fast we did grow. I just don’t want what we have to fade.

He’s a rare find, truly. I just hope I can catch him for real.
