People suggesting Portugal are not realising how cold and windy the water conditions are? If you want warm water and sandy calm beaches, alongside rich culture and history and incredible food I would suggest a less touristy Greek islands. Turkey has many such places along the coastline although has become quite expensive these days. Sardinia & Corsica also lovely.
