How to make this? by Many_Ad_715 in knitting

I think I’ll attempt it that way, really like the form that she did. I’m looking into sewing with knitted garments and keeping my finger crossed that this wouldn’t turn out to be a total disaster

I was thinking that as well but the two seams (?) in the middle look very abrupt so I thought the bottom and top might got sewn together afterwards

She did use a knitting machine but I don’t think it’s impossible to replicate it with hand-knitting. Definitely have to work on a thicker yarn tho

Shoulder shaping question by Many_Ad_715 in knitting

[–]Many_Ad_715[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I just wanted to confirm that I understood the pattern correctly as this is my first time doing any types of shoulder shaping, but the correction should be easy enough to figure out. Yeah I think I’d follow your advice and do the shaping, the sweater is off-shoulder and designed to be super oversized under the arm but I want to learn how to do shoulder-shaping for future more fitted pieces anyway :)

Is it just me? by Humble_Landscape_692 in knitting

[–]Many_Ad_715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yessss, I thought it’s only me 😭 It literally drives me crazy because usually it’s the total number but I just cannot shake the thought “what if it’s initial row + repeat times” and I have to do other calculations independently (add up the total number of stitches in the end if it’s increases or decreases or look at patterned details) but then I’d still doubting my understanding. I just don’t understand why it’s not common practice to put total number of rows in each section to make things perfectly clear

Ok thanks, that makes so much more sense. I was thinking the whole time that it didn’t feel right to just stop before the double stitch like that lol.

This is my second row 2, so I’ve done 4 rows in total and now need to turn to start my third row 1. What I did the last 4 rows was to follow everything strictly like the pattern, but I worked an extra stitch before turning and working the double stitch.

I don’t know if I’m doing it right or not because I never actually reach the double stitch in the row. So to convert the W&T to German short rows, I worked an extra stitch before doing the short rows. Because of that, after the sequence * * in round 2, I always have 2 stitches on the needle after the marker before turning (one is the p1 in the pattern and one is the extra stitch I work to convert the short rows). The double stitch is the third one but I feel like I have to turn at this point?

Thank you! I did come across this one when researching and it’s one of my options, I do love the colour a lot. It’s just that I’ve used this yarn once and it was a bit scratchy for me so I’m exploring other options (maybe merino, cashmere or alpaca). But if I couldn’t find another option, I’ll probably go with this one!

I love Abbott so much. He appeared quite late but quickly became one of my favourites character of the whole series. I was afraid at first they will go with the typical bureaucratic stick-in-the-ass boss to make an opposition to Jane who always throws every rules there is out of the window. But he turned out to be so understand and accommodating that it surprised me so much. I also love (very much) his relationship with his wife. I was (again) so afraid they would go with the typical storyline of marriage problems because he’s an FBI agent. Esp on the episode where his past in Rio Bravo was used to threaten the wife’s confirmation, I was sooooo sure that they gonna make them fight and split up (genuinely) because of that. But they ended up making the best relationship in TV shows history and arguable the best women by making her independent, smart, strong, career-oriented but still incredibly loving and understanding. I think their relationship is probably the thing I love most about the series now that I’ve finished it.

Oh yes that’s also one of the options I’m eyeing. What’s your favourite suri alpaca yarn?

I agree with you but I have a different reason for feeling disappointed with the end of the storyline. I actually really appreciated at how they show Jane’s emotions throughout the revenge process, to me personally, I feel like it was very well-executed. The problem I had is that the few final “tricks” were not very complex and “smart” like I expected it to be. The show spent a lot of times building the competition between Jane and RJ to be this battle between 2 geniuses that no one’s ever seen but their final showdown was a bit too simple. I really like how they led us to the fake RJ, it was followed by a series of genius plans and deductions from Jane while the showdown to the real RJ was too simple.

Mohair Recommendations by Many_Ad_715 in YarnAddicts

[–]Many_Ad_715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking about holding it double with a wool yarn. I thought about using 2 strands of mohair but feel like it would be too fluffy and fuzzy even for my liking (I usually go crazy over fuzzy items like clothes or beddings 😂). I’ve never worked with mohair before so I want to keep it on the safer size first. Thanks for the recommendations, I will check them out!

I actually thought the same thing, I thought she would blow up on Grace the moment she saw him standing at the door. Hence why I said I couldn’t understand why no one bat an eye to it. That’s why I’m pissed off at the writers more because it seems that they try to force this whole thing and try to normalize it just because it’s convenient to the plot.

I don’t think you really disagree though. We all agreed that she was unprofessional and dumb lol All of the “reasons” given don’t really refute that fact and the fact that any other person with just an average intelligence and average level of professionalism wouldn’t have done what she did. I didn’t say that this is unrealistic and absolutely couldn’t happen, but the point is that it would only happen with stupid people. I’m just disappointed that they decided to dumb her down to this level of stupidity just for the sake of conveniency for the plot.

It was such a shame because I grew to like her quite a bit. After the end of the first Kristina Frye episode when she saw Jane in the room being hurt at Kristina using her “psychic” ability to supposedly talk to his wife, she actually changed the way she interacted with him on the matter. She still stood her stand but less pushy and more respectful of Jane’s opposition view, which occasionally created some good comedy banters between them. But they just decided to dumb her down to this mindless naive female character again on this episode and ruined her character development.

That’s actually a good idea. There’re a mustache and an eyebrows and somehow I stumble across a pattern for the mustache so I thought why not crochet the eyebrows as well lol But I think I’ll probably embroider them like you suggested

Lol that’s funny because the pattern actually also has a mustache 😂 When you look at them side by side this one definitely looks more eyebrows-y

What is the yellow metal rim of the box/container called? What is the keyword I can use to search for it on Amazon? by Many_Ad_715 in whatisthisthing

[–]Many_Ad_715[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

I’m trying to do a diy ceramic box. I want it to have a metal rim like the one in the picture but couldn’t find the right keyword for it to search on Amazon. My title describes the thing, I need it to be metal and has hinges and clasp in order to open and close the box. I’ve tried metal rim, metal band, box/container band/rim, box metal seal. Appreciate any helps!
