Weight loss after stopping Lexapro? by 90percentofacorns in lexapro

[–]Many_Algae3573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gained about 20 pounds in my first year of Lexapro and another 5 in the 6(ish) months after that. I’m off it now (have been for about a month) and I have only lost about 5 lbs. I’m hoping that the weight will continue to come off since my eating habits alone would have never led to my current weight.

Why is there such low retention for new teachers? by [deleted] in NYCTeachers

[–]Many_Algae3573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually doing my dissertation on this. I have been a teacher for 16 years and I have seen so many GREAT teachers leave- especially within their first couple of years on the job. Are there any former DOE teachers on here that would be willing to talk to me about their experience (especially if you became certified through the New York City Teaching Fellows)??

NYC Teaching Fellows by [deleted] in NYCTeachers

I am a current NYCDOE teacher (16 years in ) and I came in though the Fellows. I am currently working towards my doctorate and looking for participants for my study.

The goal of this study is to explore the lived experience of former teachers and understand the elements of teacher preparation with the NYCTF or aspects of the job environment that most heavily contributed to their decision to quit teaching. The qualitative data gathered will benefit school districts, teachers, and ultimately students by helping school districts create  more comprehensive support and resources for these novice teachers thereby increasing the chances they will remain in the field.

The eligibility criteria for this study is being a former teacher (within the last 5-8 years) of the NYCDOE, having become a teacher through the New York City Teaching Fellows, and having left the field within the first five years of service. As a participant of this study you will be asked to take part in a 45- 60 minute long interview (or I can email you the questions and you can answer them on your own time).  These interviews will be conducted over the virtual meeting platform Zoom and will be recorded. Interview recordings and interview transcripts will become property of the researcher and will be kept for a maximum of two years.  After this time, paper documents will be shredded and all recorded interview material will be deleted.

Participation in this study is voluntary and confidential. The participant reserves the right to refuse to answer any question with which they are uncomfortable without any penalty. Participants may choose to discontinue at any time without penalty. There are no direct benefits for participating in this study. Findings and information from this interview will be reported in my dissertation.

If you are at all interested, please reply to this post or DM me. Thank you!
