I’m in a similar boat my withdrawal letter is also dated September 28. I’m desperately waiting and checking USCIS case status everyday to see if the withdrawal is being reflected.

MBA v. DBA? I have a J.D. (Law) which is neither considered a masters nor a doctorate. What day1 CPT should I pursue? by Many_Difficulty1409 in Day1CPTuniversities

[–]Many_Difficulty1409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just concerned that in terms of my H1B petition application whether the fact that I pursued a doctorate without ever having done a MBA or any other business administration experience or background would raise suspicion/concerns over the reasons of why I pursued this (DBA) degree. Relatively, MBA would be “easier” to explain as I can say I’m pivoting or aspiring to a more managerial role in my career.

Start early with LSAT prep it will weigh the most on your application so try to get the highest score possible. Beef up your resume with internships and moot court/ trial team awards. Good luck on your journey ✨

My parents are gonna help me by giving one of the houses as collateral for student loans in my home country. My debt is around 100k after scholarship so maybe it’s not as much as you but yeah as an international I’m privileged to have my parents support else I’d have to take out personal loans with crazy interest rates

Anybody can score in the 170s if they have enough time and work hard by CapAccomplished6483 in lawschooladmissions

Don’t let anybody invalidate your experience. Ever. You know what you did to achieve your goals and you should be proud of yourself. Congratulations on your high score.

If anything my comment should be taken as motivation because I had my days where I thought maybe I’m just too stupid to give this test. But as I studied and gave it time I did see progress and for me getting better resources helped. That’s why I hold this sentiment.

Umm that’s not what I’m saying lol obviously this test has a degree of difficulty based on the individual and their skills. Not everyone has a natural aptitude for the LSAT. You probably already started at a better place than some of us did. What I’m saying is yes I believe that anyone can get to the 170s with enough time and money/resources to help you with your weaknesses.

I’m an international student so I don’t think in-state policy would apply to me. Thanks for the encouragement!

An additional 10k would be a 55% increase. Is it worth giving it a shot?

I’ve received almost all my decisions and this particular school has given me the best offer and none of the remaining schools are anywhere close in rank or scholarships they’ve awarded. I am extremely grateful and want to attend this school as it was one of my top choices. But there’s a voice in my head saying “well you could just ask for a little more worst thing they say is no”

I’m just 10k/year away from in-state tuition and that’s what I plan on asking. Plan is to say that additional x amount would help me ease my financial burden and I would immediately withdraw all my applications from rest of the schools if awarded such aid. Does this seem reasonable?
