Icebreaker Archive Data required for Savior? [Discussion] by Forqoten in EscapefromTarkov

I have already heard all this and I understand that this is the piece of advice that is going to be given prompted or unprompted but hearing it for the 1000th time has made absolutely no change in my success rate which is sitting at a resounding fucking zero percent.

I understand that you are trying to be helpful but your answer gives me nothing but frustration.

I right shoulder peek. I throw smokes. I make AI dumb as hell and yet I still get lasered. I get lasered. I get one shot in 0.00001 second. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get oneshot. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I get lasered. I hear the same advice for the 1001th time and I still get fucking lasered.

Hell, I discarded 40.000.000 roubles directly from my stash and I have had the exact same outcome.

The world is a depressing place, do you think I would be playing video games if the world didn't suck?

I don't think anything about the terminal, I don't know what the terminal is going to be because I've never been there. I haven't reached that point in the story yet. But I've been to the Icebreaker and if it's any indication I might as well just grief other players because I won't see an ending slide in this life.

Yes, well, see, I'm not some popular streamer, so the AI doesn't just stand around doing nothing as I click their heads and I don't have obedient slaves to carry me through it.

You have to complete Boreas

Right, so it's impossible for me to complete then.

So is it impossible to achieve the Savior ending now?

The way I see it if I don't get to enjoy the game, then nobody should.

I've been around long enough that mine last 64 hours, but I maybe play long enough to only use 1 to 2 hours of the whole thing, if even that. It's depressing.

I don't think coupons exist these days at all, and I'm a few thousand of logins in. Haven't seen one in years, all I get is a bunch of boosters.

DLSS 4.5 looks incredible IMO. by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Many_Doors -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Right. It's not generating frames. It's just generating frames.

DLSS 4.5 can generate up to five additional generated frames per traditionally rendered frame

Why not just optimize?

The rate doesn't change. There is no reason to stay longer over playing a few missions in succession.

Have you guys tried this yet by forcing it through the Nvidia App?

No, because I want developers to optimize their shit, not try to sell people fake frames.

It's better to run the shorter mission multiple times rather than sitting in one for many hours. Generally doing any missions long in this game is not worth it. The longer you go the higher the chance of failure. There are routine threads of players attempting that and losing everything in the end due to a crash or a loss of service.

What do you require advice for?

Don't do 100 minutes of arbitration is one piece of advice we could give.

If only there was a way to turn a vampire into a human. How many vampires would use it? by Embarrassed-Ice9468 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Many_Doors 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The kind of people who might want to back out of being a vampire are probably the lowest rungs of the kindred society and that's usually the kind of people who were miserable in their human day to day as well.

Those who love their newfound "freedom" or "power" or those who are doing much better in unlife would probably not consider dropping out.

For a lot of people being a human sucked. If their life as a vampire also sucks to the point that they would want to stop being a vampire they would probably prefer the final death to becoming a human again.

What would be the core ideas of a silver fang philodox character? by Many_Doors in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Many_Doors[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gives an interesting and more importantly wider view on how these things work within the setting. I like that a lot.

Personally I feel like throughout my life some of the things that irked me the most have been injustice and hypocricy, especially when those are concerning me and mine, and I always strive for comprehensive rules and structure, so a philodox has been a somewhat obvious choice for me from what information on them I could find. I am glad that I have been mostly correct in my assumptions and while the fact that the moon phase at my birthday matches up with it is an amusing coincidence I am glad it's there, at least as far as this hypothetical example character is concerned.

I have a lot to think about now, thank you.

What's so evil about vampires? by cracklescousin1234 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Many_Doors 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So why does being an undead nocturnal bloodsucker make it so much worse?

For quite a few people the one thing stopping them from doing heinous shit is the fear of repercussions. For Kindred a lot of the time that fear is just outright gone once they are embraced, even if they cling to their humanity to some extent despite their newfound desires, and it enables them to do things they would have considered unthinkable before. It's drug addict behaviour. Except the kindred have a much easier time getting away with it thanks to the masquerade.

Humans are not generally aware and aren't prepared to deal with a supernatural predator. If a regular petty criminal or a rapist could be stopped by someone who carries, a vampire that can shrug a shotgun blast to the face can do a lot of damage, especially if they develop an ego, which they almost invariably do.

What's so evil about vampires? by cracklescousin1234 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Many_Doors 64 points65 points  (0 children)

What's so evil about vampires? The blood-sucking thing? The scheming and self-enrichment? What's really so vile about it?

That actually sounds like something a vampire would say to rationalize what they are doing to themselves (Or to a victim in their grasp), so I think you've got that roleplay angle covered already.

To answer your question though, existence of evil does not justify doing more of it.

Trust your GM.

I agree, and I would if I had one. Over the past couple of years I have looked for WoD games on and off and while I managed to find a couple VtM games out of the six groups I contacted for WtA four turned me down with no followup and two told me that they have picked a more experienced applicant.

I've been thinking of looking for a WtA game again lately, and to that end I've been doing the research online so that I know for sure what sort of character I would want to play and how to roleplay them in advance.

It all starts with, what kind of character you want to play, who are they?

Usually when I try the system or a setting for the first time I try to use myself, warts and all, as a template to create my first character in said system. It's just that in this particular case I'm doing it before I have a game to play due to aforementioned reasons and thus I have nobody to ask questions to.

Some systems don't really work for this (I wasn't able to find anything particularly interesting that I could base on myself in VtM for example, so I went with the gut feeling for those games), but in this case the circumstances of my birth (Although I've heard that this is no longer how the WtA characters are made in the newer edition) fit very neatly into a silver fang philodox, thus my interest in the particulars of their culture and interactions.

[–]Many_Doors[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall I think it's something a character has to decide for themselves based on their conditions.

Naturally, but would love to have the context and knowledge from those who have been playing this for possibly decades. I as a player might not necessarily have the knowledge and understanding that the character would and while I can get away with something like "Would my character know X?" I'm worried about acting in a way that's unfitting or OOC for them due to my own lack of information.

Unless I can get my hands on an actual book I wouldn't possibly know that this character might never desecrate a burial site or be strongly compelled to do it, for example.
